COMMENTS: These menthol crystals are just wonderful! Melts really nice in a very small amount of oil. Worked good in my M&P soaps. 0.18 lb is a lot of crystals and a little goes a long ways! Very pleased with this product.

"Use in Lip Balm and Lotion" |

COMMENTS: I used more than a few crystals to get the effect I wanted. I used probably about 1 tsp per 4 oz of lip balm and came out perfect. I just dropped the crystals in my hot oil and melted to an oil. Made an icy spearmint lip balm, which turned out great. Colored green! I tried some in some lotion I already had made up and I think to get the pain releiving properties of menthol it has to be quit concentrated with the cystals. The lotion smelled menthol but did not get the tingle I was after. Next time will make lotion more concentrated.

COMMENTS: Since it has been so hot this summer I bought some menthol crystals for my customers. I could smell it before opening the bag. It's very strong so you want to double bag them and put them somewhere where you won't mind everything smelling like menthol. The easiest way to add this to any product is to melt all the crystals and put it in a carrier oil like soybean oil.You don't need much oil to do this either. I used 3oz. of soybean oil for a .18lb bag of menthol and it worked wonderfully. Just zap the menthol in a glass container for 30 seconds at a time until melted and mix with the carrier oil.

COMMENTS: ok, so I am still testing it. from the descriptions that were recived, i though this product would be a miracle! so, i tried to dissolve it in oil base, it did not work, i tried crushing the crystals, it was not successful, then I tried melting it in the microwave in a pirex glass, and voila!!! turned into a smooth oil that was easily addible to my foot soak. I thought the tingle would occur during the soak, but it happened after my feet were dry. but the tingle does LAST!!! I also plan on melting it down and adding it into lip balm for a icy cool tingle! i put an itty bitty dab on my lips and it feels great! so, it was a lil difficult at first, but then it eventually worked out.

COMMENTS: Great stuff. I dissolve a bit in my peppermint soaps to strengthen the minty scent and give a tingle to the skin. Don't breathe too deeply when you're crushing it, though!

COMMENTS: I use this in my Peppermint Foot Lotion. I only use a couple of the menthol crystals per 8oz bottle. It needs to be crushed prior to use, then you can blend with your lotion base. BE CAREFUL when using, it can irritate sensitive skin areas.I have added that disclaimer to my label. I bought this over a year ago and still have 90% of the small bucket left! A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!
