Recipe Directions

  1. NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
  2. Weigh and cut up 2 oz. of clear soap. Place in glass measuring cup. If you do not have a scale, take 1/4 of 2 lb. tray which is 8 oz. Cut that square into 4 pieces and 1 piece would be approx. 2 oz.
  3. Melt soap in microwave for about 15 seconds. Remove and stir soap. Heat for additional 10 seconds if not completely melted.
  4. Add 1/2 teaspoon of gold mica powder to melted soap. Mix well.
  5. Using plastic dropper, take 1 clamshell and pipe in the melted gold soap into the ribbon and ring areas. The more soap you are able to fill into the cavities, the darker the color will be.
  6. Spritz with alcohol to remove any surface bubbles.
  7. Continue until all clamshells are done.
  8. If soap starts to harden, remelt in microwave for a few seconds. To keep dropper from hardening, place in warm water while reheating soap. Be sure to completely empty all water before using again.
  9. Cut up 48 oz. of goat milk soap (1 1/2 trays) and place in large 64 oz. glass measuring cup.
  10. Place in microwave and heat for about 1 minute. Remove and stir. If not completely melted, continue to heat in 15 second increments until completely melted.
  11. Measure 1.5 oz. of fragrance. Pour into melted soap and stir well.
  12. Spritz the inside of each clamshell well with alcohol. This will ensure the second pour adheres to the rings.
  13. When soap cools down to 130 degrees, it is ready to pour. If you do not have a thermometer, let soap cool until skin forms. Stir skin back into soap, mix well and you should be ready to pour.
  14. Pour goat milk soap into each clamshell until filled to the top.
  15. Spritz top of soap with alcohol to release any surface bubbles. Let soap completely harden.
  16. Place lids on back and label accordingly.
