Recipe Directions

  1. NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask.  We also recommend a clean apron and a covered work area to help with clean up.
  2. Lay out all 12 silicone cupcake liners on a cookie sheet and set aside.
  3. Remove entire 2 lb. tray of clear soap and cut up into chunks. Place chunks into large glass bowl.
  4. Add 1/2 of the Brown Sparkle Color Cube and 1/8 of the Black Matte Color Cube.
  5. Place bowl in microwave and heat soap until it has completely melted.
  6. Remove and stir to incorporate color completely.
  7. Add .75 oz. of Chocolate Type Fragrance Oil and .25 oz. Peppermint Candy. Stir gently.
  8. Carefully pour into the 12 cupcake molds and let soap set up.
  9. Once cupcakes have set up, remove the silicone cupcake liners.  Keep 4 liners and set the remaining 8 aside.
  10. Weigh 1.5 oz.  of white soap base and heat in microwave until melted.  Divide soap into the 4 cupcake liners. These will be used for the peppermint candy pieces for the top of the cupcake.
  11. Once soap has hardened, weigh and melt 1.5 oz. of clear soap along with 1/8 cube of Americana Red Soap cube.
  12. Check that soap temperature is under 125°F, spritz tops of white soap wih alcohol, then pour red soap on top.  Let harden.
  13. When soap has been removed from liners, cut up into small pieces and set aside.
  14. For Frosting:   In plastic beaker, mix .5 oz. Marshmallow Fragrance Oil and .5 oz. Vanilla Color Stabilizer together.  Set aside.
  15.  Weigh 8 oz. of white soap and cut up into chunks. Place in a glass measuring cup and heat in microwave until melted.
  16. To melted soap, add 1.5 oz. of shea butter. Stir until butter has completely dissolved. If needed, place in microwave and heat a little more until butter has melted.
  17. Weigh 8 oz. of Foaming Bath Whip and add to bowl of soap mixture. Gently stir in. Bath Whip will not completely melt but will soften and break up into smaller pieces.
  18. On slow speed, start mixing with hand mixer. It is best to use a deep bowl as the soap will splatter very easily. Move speed up to medium and continue mixing.
  19. Once the soap starts to thicken, turn off mixer.
  20. Add 1 oz. of glycerin and 1 oz. of fragrance/stabilizer mixture from Step 14.
  21. Start mixing again. If mixture starts to thicken and collect on beaters, turn off mixer, remove soap from beaters and add back to bowl.
  22. On medium to high, quickly whip mixture for about 15 seconds until it thickens.
  23. If the frosting seems too thin, place bowl in refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Do not whip again.
  24. Spoon frosting onto the top of each cupcake, making it look like whipped cream.
  25. Sprinkle peppermint candy pieces over the top of the frosting.   Sprinkle with Iridescent Sparkle Giltter to finish off the cupcakes.
  26. Let product sit for at least 24 hours to completely harden frosting. Your soap should then be ready to package.

"Is there any way to make the frosting on this recipe a bit harder? because i tried it following the recipe to the T and even though the mix was great for piping, packaging the cupcakes was a nightmare because the frosting ended up all over the bag and the order was rejected. Thanks"

Email Me When This Question Gets Answered

"Hi - made these using foaming bath whip for the first time. The icing never got fully hard - stayed sticky so stuck to cellophane bags. Made a second time and added 2 Tablespoons Stearic Acid and it worked great. Has anyone else had this problem, or was I whipping it too long? "
