Recipe Directions

  1. NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
  2. Weigh the Cocoa Butter and Coconut Oil and place both in a double boiler or small pot and place over heat source.
  3. Heat just long enough to melt butter completely.
  4. Set mixture aside and let set up at room temperature.
  5. When butter and oil have solidified, add almond oil and essential oils.
  6. Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture until soft and fluffy.
  7. Add tapioca starch and aloe vera gel and mix well to incorporate.
  8. Package 6.45 oz. of product in each 8 oz. Green Basic Plastic Jar and place lids on top.
  9. Tie the black spatula to the jar using the raffia.
  10. Label product accordingly.
  11. TO USE: Apply a thin layer of shave butter to skin and shave as usual. This product will melt a bit as you use it. It is not necessary to clean your skin afterwards, however, if you wish you may use a warm, wet wash cloth and rinse the skin by pressing firmly. To clean razor, swish in a cup of warm water between strokes.

"I made this Shave Butter and only substituted a Fragrance Oil for the EO's. I noticed this evening that almost all the jars have developed some type of moisture around the jar. Is this from the Oils? I did not put a preservative in the product so I'm wondering if this batch is ruined or not. Thanks!"
