Recipe Directions

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. Assemble the Star Column Silicone Mold and the Tree Column Silicone Mold making sure all sides are firmly linked together. Place mold on a cookie sheet to give it stability and also to catch any soap should it leak out. Prop sides of molds against something solid to keep molds from falling over.
  2. STAR: To a microwave-safe measuring cup, add 7.5 oz. cut up clear soap. Heat in microwave until soap has melted.
  3. Add 1 tsp. Sparkle Dark Gold Mica Powder. Mix in well. Once soap has cooled to around 125°F, pour into star column mold. Pouring soap too hot will cause the mold to bow. Spritz top of melted soap with alcohol to release any bubbles.
  4. TREE: To microwave-safe measuring cup, add 15 oz. cut up clear soap. Heat in microwave until melted.
  5. In plastic beaker, mix 1 oz. glycerin with 1/2 tsp. green oxide pigment. Mix well.
  6. Add green color to melted soap until desired shade is reached.
  7. Add 10 ml Apple Balsam Pine fragrance oil and stir to incorporate.
  8. When soap has cooled to 125°F, pour into tree column mold. Spritz top with alcohol and let soap completely harden.
  9. To remove soap, carefully pull sides apart and remove soap from mold. Trim any excess soap from the sides of the tree or star with a soap cutter or a potato peeler.
  10. Place loaf mold on cookie sheet.  Place tree with star on top and lay down into the mold to size them. If they fit too tightly, trim the bottom of the tree slightly so they fit into the mold easier. (The tree with star will be laying on its side in the mold.)
  11. Cut up entire 2 lb. tray of goat milk soap and add to microwave-safe measuring cup. Heat in microwave for about 3 minutes or until completely melted.
  12. Add 1 oz. of fragrance and 1 tsp. super sparkle glitter and mix well.
  13. You will want to be sure to wear gloves for next step.
  14. When soap has cooled to 130°F, fill loaf mold about 1/3 full with melted goat milk soap.
  15. Spritz the entire tree and the star heavily with alcohol. Place tree with star on top sideways down into the mold. It should fit down into the melted soap and flow around it so no air pockets will form.
  16. These will fit very snugly into the width of the mold. Looking into the mold from the end, try to position the tree into the middle with the star evenly on the top. It is ok if the star is not completely straight. Your soap is handmade and each loaf will be unique.
  17. Once tree and star are placed, spritz again with alcohol and pour remaining soap over top until mold is completely filled. Spritz again to remove any bubbles. Let soap completely harden.
  18. When completely set, gently pull sides away from soap. Turn mold over and gently push from bottom until loaf releases.
  19. Place loaf in mitre box (if available) and cut up into 1" slices. Wrap in plastic wrap.
  20. Label product accordingly.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin and rinse with warm water.
