Recipe Directions

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. Place mold in freezer for 20 min.
  2. Pour 1 oz. of glycerin into 2 small beakers or glass bowls. Add 1/2 tsp of Matte Cobalt Blue Powder Pigment to one beaker. Add 1/2 tsp. of Blue Mica to other. Mix well with a mini-mixer or frother to be sure powder is completely dissolved.
  3. Melt 5 oz. of soap and pour into 2 different beaker cups.
  4. Add a small amount of dark blue/glycerin color to one cup and blue mica powder to the second cup. Mix well.
  5. When each of the colored soaps have reached 130º F, remove mold from the freezer.
  6. Place mold on a cookie sheet for security. This will allow you to move it without flexing the mold.
  7. Using one color at a time, drizzle the soap in different patterns. For the soap in the image, we drizzled diagonally from the top right corner to the bottom left corner.
  8. Repeat with each color. Try to drizzle additional colors where there is part of the mold exposed.
  9. When you are done creating the artistic surface, place the mold (keep on the cookie sheet) back in the freezer.
  10. Add 10 oz. of clear cut up soap and add to measuring cup. Heat in the microwave at 30 second intervals until melted.
  11. To melted soap, add 0.50 oz of fragrance and white sparkle color.
  12. When soap reaches 125-128º F, remove the mold from the freezer.
  13. Spritz the soap in the mold with a fine mist of rubbing alcohol. Make sure all soap has been sprayed as this is what causes the two different types of soap to stick together.
  14. Slowly pour the melted soap into the mold. As you are pouring, move the pouring container onto different areas of the mold. This prevents the melting of your artistic designs.
  15. Allow the soap to return to room temperature. This may take 30- 60 minutes.
  16. Add 55 oz. of clear cut up soap to large measuring cup. Heat in the microwave at 2 min. intervals until melted.
  17. In a small beaker, mix 1 oz. glycerin with 1/2 tsp. cobalt blue pigment. Mix well with mini mixer.
  18. To the cup of melted soap, add 1.5 oz. of fragrance and cobalt blue color mixture.
  19. When soap reaches 125-128º F, spritz the soap in the mold with a fine mist of rubbing alcohol. Make sure all soap has been sprayed as this is what causes the two different types of soap to stick together.
  20. Slowly pour the melted soap into the mold. As you are pouring, move the pouring container onto different areas of the mold.
  21. Allow the soap to return to room temperature. This may take up to 2 hours.
  22. Remove the soap from the mold and cut.
  23. Label according to FDA guidelines.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin and rinse off.
