Blueberry Cold Process Soap
Author: Wholesale Supplies Plus
Thursday, April 26, 2018

This coconut-free recipe is a medley of wonderful oils and butters. Babassu oil, shea butter and palm oil contribute to the overall hardness of the bar while castor oil boosts lather. Blueberry butter, blue color and poppy seeds contribute to the blueberry look of this bar while Fresh Picked Blueberry fragrance adds the smell of freshly harvested blueberries. We love this bar for summer!

Recipe Directions

WARNING: This project and these instructions have been written for someone who has experience making soap and knows the potential dangers due to working with sodium hydroxide. It will not outline all safety methods of working with dangerous chemicals, it is simply a soap recipe for advanced soap makers.
  1. To propylene pitcher, add 8 oz. water. Slowly add lye to water stirring as you pour. Set aside to cool.
  2. To metal pot, add olive oil, palm oil, avocado oil, castor oil, safflower oil, shea butter, and blueberry butter. Heat on stovetop until all oils are liquid.
  3. To beaker, add 0.25 oz. water and blue powder. Mix well.
  4.  When oil mixture and lye mixture are both 120ºF, slowly pour lye mixture into oil mixture. Using stick blender, mix until light trace is reached.
  5. To soap batter, add fragrance, color mixture and poppy seeds. Blend.
  6.  Pour soap into mold and texture top as desired.
  7.  After 24 hours, remove soap from mold and slice into bars. Allow soap to cure for 4-6 weeks.
  8. Package and label as desired.
To Use: Lather onto wet skin. Rinse off with warm water.
