Recipe Directions

  1. NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
  2. Lay 16 clamshells out on flat surface so they are ready to be filled.
  3. Weigh 10 oz. of ultra white soap. Cut into chunks and place in glass bowl.
  4. Place bowl in microwave and heat until just melted. If there are any soap pieces undissolved, stir with spoon until they are completely melted.
  5. Pour thin layer of white soap into each of the 16 clamshells. Spritz the soap after pouring to dissolve any bubbles that may have formed.
  6. In small glass bowl, mix 2 Tablespoons (1 oz.) Crafter's Choice Candy Crush Fragrance Oil with 1 Tablespoon (15ml) Crafter's Choice Vanilla Color Stabiizer. Mix well and set aside.
  7. Remove extra clear soap from plastic tray and cut up the entire slab (2 lb.) into chunks and place in glass bowl.
  8. Remove 1 cube of Crafter's Choice Neon Citrus Blast Color Bar. Shave off about 1/4 of the cube and add to soap chunks. The color will melt along with the soap.
  9. When soap has melted, take out of microwave and mix well with spoon. If any color bits remain, place back in microwave and heat for 10-15 seconds until color is completely melted. If you want a darker color, add more shavings at this time and heat until color dissolves.
  10. Pour in fragrance oil mixture. Mix well.
  11. Check soap temperature and do not pour until soap cools down to around 125-130 degrees. If soap is too hot, it will melt the white layer already poured.
  12. Spritz the white soap with alcohol before pouring the orange layer. This ensures the layers will stick together when unmolded.
  13. Pour a thick layer of orange over the white, leaving room for your final yellow layer. Spritz the orange with alcohol after pouring.
  14. Let soap completely harden.
  15. In small glass bowl, mix 4 Teaspoons (20ml) Crafter's Choice Candy Crush fragrance oil with 2 Teaspoons (10ml) Vanilla Color Stabilizer. Set aside.
  16. For final layer, weigh 22 oz. ultra white soap base.
  17. Remove 1 cube of the Crafter's Choice Neon Laser Lemon Color Bar and shave off about 1/4 of the cube. Add this to the soap chunks.
  18. Melt soap and color shavings in microwave until completely melted. If darker color is desired, add more color shavings at this time and heat until dissolved.
  19. Pour in fragrance oil mixture. Mix well.
  20. Let soap cool to around 125-130 degrees, spritz orange layer with alcohol and pour final yellow layer on top. Spritz again to remove bubbles.
  21. Once soap has hardened, put on back of clamshell, label and product is ready for sale.
