Recipe Directions

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
  1. Place silicone loaf mold on a cookie sheet. This helps stabilize the mold if it needs to be moved.
  2. In plastic beaker, pour out 1.2 oz. of fragrance oil. Add .60 oz. of Vanilla Color Stabilizer. The fragrance has 3% vanilla content so the stabilizer will help keep the soap from turning brown. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Cut 1 - 2lb tray of white soap into 4 sections. Each section should weigh approx. 8 ounces.
  4. Cut up one 8 oz. block of soap and place in glass measuring cup. Heat in microwave until soap temperature reaches around 150°F. This is so the powdered dyes will completely dissolve when mixed in.
  5. Add the first powder dye until desired shade is reached. Mix well until completely dissolved. Start with about 1/8 teaspoon. Color may speckle if too much is added.
  6. Mixing fragrance/stabilizer, add one tablespoon to melted colored soap. Mix well.
  7. Pour into soap mold. Spritz with alcohol to dissolve surface bubbles. Let soap harden.
  8. Melt 3 oz. of white soap. Spritz top of first layer with rubbing alcohol to help layers adhere.
  9. When soap has cooled to around 125°F, pour over spritzed layer of soap. If soap is too hot, the layer below will bleed into the white soap. Let soap harden.
  10. Cut up another 8 oz. block of soap and melt in microwave. Again, heat soap to around 150°F.
  11. Add second powder color until desired shade is reached. Mix well to be sure the powder has completely dissolved.
  12. Add one tablespoon of fragrance oil mixture to soap, mixing well before adding.
  13. Check soap temperature before pouring to be sure it is at or below 125°F. Otherwise, it may melt the layer below.
  14. Spritzing soap with alcohol, pour colored soap and spritz again to release bubbles. Let soap harden.
  15. Melt 3 oz. of white soap. Spritzing top of orange/coral soap with alcohol (to help layers adhere), pour white soap over this layer. Let soap harden.
  16. Repeat Steps 4-15 to pour third and fourth layer of soap. After fourth colored layer has been poured, do not add another layer of white soap.
  17. Cut up and melt 10 oz. of soap in glass bowl.
  18. Using a hand mixer, beat soap on medium until soap just starts to thicken.
  19. Spritz top of soap with alcohol and immediately pour thickened soap on top of loaf. Use a spoon to make peaks and to make it look like frosting.
  20. Top with sprinkles and let soap harden.
  21. Cut loaf into slices using the wavy soap cutter and wrap tightly with saran wrap.
  22. Label product accordingly.
