Recipe Directions

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
  1. Weigh 10 oz. of Extra Clear Soap. Cut up into chunks and place in a large glass bowl. Place in microwave and heat until all the soap has completely melted.
  2. To melted soap add 1 oz. of liquid glycerin.
  3. Add the 16 oz. container of Foaming Bath Whip to the melted soap and stir. It will melt slightly with the heat of the soap.
  4. Using a hand mixer, begin to whip product.
  5. Continue to mix until product thickens and looks like marshmallow cream. Turn off mixer.
  6. Adding 1 cup at a time, add 5 cups of sugar while continuing to mix. When all sugar has been mixed in, turn off mixer.
  7. Take out half of the sugar scrub mixture and place in a second bowl. To this you will add .5 oz. of Vanilla Almond fragrance oil. With mixer on low, gently blend in.
  8. To other bowl of scrub, add 1/2 teaspoon of Chocolate Brown Sparkle Mica Powder and mix on low to incorporate. Add more color if a darker shade is desired.
  9. Add .5 oz. Chocolate Type fragrance oil and continue to mix. Add 1 additional cup of sugar to the chocolate scrub because the fragrance oil will thin out the product.
  10. For best results in scooping out product, let set overnight to thicken. It is not necessary to cover. It can still be scooped if unable to set overnight, but will be slightly softer to work with.
  11. Scoop out two chocolate and two vanilla scoops and add to a Cupcake Clamshell. Continue until all 20 cups have been filled.
  12. In a small glass measuring cup, melt 5 oz. of clear soap in the microwave. Add enough drops of color until a nice cherry or strawberry color is achieved.
  13. Drizzle the "strawberry syrup" (red soap) over each cup of "ice cream". Then add sprinkles. If making with a class, or at a party, divide the liquid red soap into 4 beakers and let the children drizzle the syrup themselves. Then top with sprinkles.
  14. Once sundaes have all been made, place lids on clamshells.
  15. When labeling product, be sure to state what the product is and that it is not edible. Product can be used as a soap in the bath, or to wash up at the sink. The candy sprinkles will melt in the warm water.

"How well will this product "store"? I have a customer that wants these for a wedding shower, but wondering how much in advance I could make them without them being ruined by sitting too long. I really want them to maintain a sugar scrub consistency, but not get hard like soap. Thanks!"
