Recipe Directions
- NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
- Weigh 4.5 oz. of Detergent Free Coconut Milk MP Soap and cup up into smaller chunks. Place in a glass measuring cup and place in microwave. Heat soap in 20 second intervals until soap has completely melted.
- Add 4 ml of Red Hibiscus & Acai Fragrance Oil plus 3 micro scoops of Yellow Oil Locking Mica Shimmer. Mix well.
- Using a plastic dropper, fill in the stems on each flower. This works best if soap is a little hotter and thinner so it is easier to work with. Spritz with alcohol when finished. The leftover soap will be used in a later step.
- Weigh 7.5 oz. of Detergent Free Clear MP Soap and cut up into smaller chunks. Place in a glass measuring cup and place in microwave. Heat soap in 20 second intervals until soap has completely melted.
- Add 6 ml of Red Hibiscus & Acai Fragrance Oil plus 2 micro scoops of Crimson Red Wine Mica Powder and 2 micro scoops of Sexy Pink Slippers Mica Powder. Allow soap to cool down to 120°F.
- Spritz yellow stems in each mold cavity with alcohol and pour the melted red soap equally between the 3 soap cavities. Allow this soap to set up.
- Remelt the yellow soap from Step 4. Add 1/4 teaspoon of Poppy Seeds. Mix well.
- Spritz soap in mold with alcohol. When soap temperature reaches about 120° F, pour into mold cavities until soap reaches the top. Spritz again with alcohol and let soap harden.
- Once soap has completely hardened, remove from mold. If soap is difficult to remove, place mold in freezer for 15 - 20 minutes. Remove mold from freezer and place upside down on counter. As the soap comes to room temperature, the soap will fall from the mold onto the counter.
- In a small beaker, mix about 2 scoops of yellow oil locking mica shimmer with a small amount of alcohol. Stir well. This mixture will be brushed into the middle of each soap flower to finish off the soap. The alcohol will evaporate after painting it on the soap but will give the mica a base to use so it can be painted on the soap. Add more alcohol or mica powder as needed.
- Once the flowers have been painted, set aside to dry.
- Package and label accordingly.
- Repeat above steps to make remaining 9 bars of soap, if desired.
