Recipe Directions

  1. NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron.
  2. Weigh .5 oz. of Extra Clear MP soap and place in glass bowl.
  3. Place bowl in microwave and melt for about 15 seconds.
  4. In a beaker, mix 1 oz. of glycerin with small amount of powder color. Mix well with frother or mini-mixer.
  5. Pour small amount of color into melted soap and mix well.
  6. Carefully pour color into leaf cavity and spritz with alcohol to remove any bubbles. Let harden. Save remaining color for future soaps.
  7. Weigh 6 oz. of goats milk soap and cut into chunks. Place in glass pyrex cup and melt soap in microwave until completely melted. Stir well
  8. Add 4 ml. of fragrance and mix well.
  9. Attach back of mold to leaf and place bands around top and bottom of mold to hold in place. Place this on a cookie sheet.
  10. Remove sprayer from spritz bottle and pour a small amount of alcohol into top of mold. Swirl around to cover entire leaf area, then pour out any excess.
  11. Once soap has cooled to around 125 degrees, pour into spout located at the top of the mold. NOTE: If soap is too hot when poured, it will leak out the bottom of the mold and onto the cookie sheet.
  12. Take soap rope and place the end into the pour spout at the top and push down into the mold. If necessary, pour a little more soap into the top. Spritz with alcohol.
  13. Place in freezer to harden or leave at room temperature to set up.
  14. Once soap has hardened, remove bands and gently pull mold away from soap. If any soap leaked out, trim around bar with potato peeler. Wrap bar and label accordingly.
  15. Repeat above steps to make any color combination desired with the clear and goats milk soap bases. Products should yield 13 bars of soap.
