Recipe Directions

NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  1. Separate the 12 sets of bath bomb molds with the corresponding tops and bottoms. Set aside
  2. To a large mixing bowl, add 16 oz. of baking soda and 8 oz. of citric acid. Blend with a wire whisk. If there are any clumps, a sifter can be used to break these up. If desired, use gloved hands to mix ingredients.
  3. Using a plastic dropper, add the fragrance oil by drizzling into different locations of the mixture. Mix fragrance in well.
  4. Using a spray bottle with at least 91% rubbing alcohol, spritz mixture, mixing at the same time,  until it holds together when pressed in the palm of the hand.
  5. Pack both sides of mold tightly with product, leaving a little extra in the middle.
  6. Push both sides together tightly, Remove the top and gently brush away any excess mixture. If sides are not sticking together, add more mixture and place molds together again.
  7. Place bath bombs on bubble wrap or in egg cartons overnight. Unmold and set on a cookie sheet.
  8. Place the black color block into plastic beaker and heat in the microwave in 5 second intervals until completely melted.
  9. Using a childs paintbrush, paint eyes and a mouth on first bath bomb. Take another bath bomb and draw three buttons on it.
  10. Repeat till all bath bombs are painted into pairs.
  11. Place the orange color block into a plastic beaker and heat in microwave in 5 second intervals till melted.
  12. With a clean brush, paint a carrot nose on the snowman face.
  13. Allow 24 hours for paint to dry or longer if needed.
  14. To package, place a top and bottom of the snowman into a cello bag.  Tie with red curling ribbon and add label.
