Southern Peach Bath Bombs Recipe
Author: Wholesale Supplies Plus
Saturday, August 1, 2015

Nothing like the smell of fresh farm stand peaches in the summertime. In this recipe you will learn how to make bath bombs that look like little peaches. We will also make the leaves out of melt and pour soap and attach them to the top. We are using aloe butter in them to help soothe your summer sun-kissed skin.

Recipe Directions

  1. NOTE: If you are making these products for sale, good manufacturing practices recommend you wear a hairnet, gloves and a mask. We also recommend a clean apron and workspace.
  2. Cut up 6 oz. of Basic White MP Soap Base into little cubes.
  3. Place the cubed soap in a microwaveable container, and melt in a microwave on medium for 30 second bursts until melted.
  4. Add 5-7 drops of Stained Glass Forest Green Liquid Color to the melted soap, and mix until the color is evenly distributed.
  5. Pour into the leaf shaped cavity of the Deco-It: Folk Design Silicone Mold. Repeat until you have 22. (You may need to reheat the soap.) Set aside.
  6. Mix Baking Soda, Citric Acid and Cornstarch together in a bowl or stand mixer, making sure to break up any clumps and lumps.
  7. Add Bath Bomb Red Powder Color and Bath Bomb Orange Powder Color to the mixture, and mix until color is evenly incorporated.
  8. Place Aloe Butter Blend, Cocoa Butter and Safflower Oil in a microwaveable bowl, and melt in a microwave for 30 second spurts until completely melted. Set aside and let cool for a few minutes.
  9. In a small container measure out the Water, Rubbing Alcochol and the Fragrance Oil, and mix together.
  10. Add the oil/butter mixture from step eight to the mixture from step nine.
  11. With stand mixer on low you will pour the liquids in at once and turn mixer up one notch, incorporating the liquid quickly to stop the fizzing action. (If you do not have a stand mixer it's ok to grab a whisk and pour half of liquid in the bowl and whisk vigorously and then add other half and whisk it in.)
  12. Check to see if the mixture has the right consistency. Grab mixture in your hand. It should feel like wet sand and should keep a shape when squeezed in your hand.
  13. Take a two piece bath bomb mold and fill one side. Overfill the one side by pressing mixture in the mold and also by making a mound (kind of like a snow cone) then press the other half of mold on top.
  14. Press together the mold and with a slight twist you will take off one side of the mold. Place the bath bomb in your hand and gently take off the other half of mold. If you do not want the ring around it then simply wipe around your bath bomb with your hand and it comes right off. Place on a lined cookie sheet. (You can also leave in molds overnight and they pop right out. You will need 22 molds for this method.)
  15. Let your bath bombs dry overnight. Once bath bombs are hard you are ready to make them into juicy southern peaches.
  16. Melt 2 oz. of the Melt and Pour Soap Base and in a microwave safe dish on low in 30 second bursts until completely melted. Making sure not to overheat.
  17. Add a few drops of the Stained Glass Forest Green Liquid Color and mix well.
  18. Dip the back side of a leaf into the melted soap and set on top of each “peach” bath bomb.
  19. Let them set until dry.
  20. Sprinkle with iridescent glitter.
  21. Package in a cute fruit basket, box or wrap in a cello bag.
