Rosemary, sage, thyme and basil herbs with hints of lavender and chamomile. Middle note.
This oil can be used alone or mixed with other Fragrance Formulator™ Oils. It is best used as a middle note in custom blends.
This fragrance is part of the Fragrance Formulator Program. It can be used alone or blended with other fragrance formulator oils. Use our fragrance wheel and resource library for suggested blends.
Top Notes: Top notes are light molecules that evaporate quickly. They provide the first impression of a scent and are very important for creating an impression. They are often a driving factor for selling products. Top notes are sometimes called head notes.
Middle Notes: Middle notes are perceived most notably after the top note dissipates. Middle notes are the main body of a fragrance and help transition noses to the bottom notes. Middles notes are also known as heart notes.
Bottom Notes: Bottom notes are heavy molecules that evaporate slowly. Bottom notes gives scents depth and longevity. They are often used as fixatives to help boost the strength of top and middle notes, and may take 30 minutes until perceived in a blended scent. Bottom notes are also known as base notes.

Directions:
How To Blend Scents?
Blend two scents or many scents together to create your signature scent. Here are some tips for blending:
1) Robust scents include a range of notes including top, middle and base notes.
2) Formulate your scent! Use blotter sticks and plastic droppers to develop your scent. Drop oils onto blotter sticks while keeping track of the number of drops of each Fragrance Formulator Oil you add. Continue to play with the scent until you've found your favorite blend.
3) Use math to convert the drops into percentages and then use a Batch Calculator to convert your percentages into ounces.
How Much Fragrance Oil Should Be Used In A Product?
The amount of fragrance that should be used in a cosmetic or soap formulation depends on three factors:
1) The maximum amount of scent the product base will accept.
2) The maximum IFRA skin safe level. (If you are using your custom blended fragrance, use the lowest IFRA maximum from your different Fragrance Formulator Oils.)
3) The amount of fragrance that smells good in your product.
You will look at these three maximum guidelines and use the LOWEST percentage.
For example: Desired smell is 5%, making MP soap is 3%, and the IFRA max use is 15%. You should not use more than 3% in your product. This 3% is the lowest of all of those numbers.
Maximum Product Base Guidelines:
MP Soap: 3%
CP, HP, CPOP Soap: 6%
Lotions and Scrubs: 1-2%
Bath Salts, Fizziest & Tub Soaks: 5-10%
To Determine The IFRA Guidelines:
IFRA is a self-regulating trade organization that together with the industry's scientific center RIFM (the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials), establishes usage safety standards for materials that comprise fragrance and essential oils. Each year IFRA updates their standards based on sound science.
Wholesale Supplies Plus updates IFRA documents annually so that customers can stay up-to-date with the latest science. If you find IFRA levels have changed for your formula, it is standard to take 2 years to update products in the market. You can find Wholesale Supplies Plus IFRA documents on the “documents” tab of this product page.
Additional Information:
Fragrance oils that contain vanilla or vanillin will change color. The color change can take days, weeks or months and can vary from a light ivory to dark brown. Crafter’s Choice Vanilla Color Stabilizers will prevent some products from changing color. Oils that are dark in color, contain floral notes or spices may in time naturally change color.

"Strong Green Herbal " |
COMMENTS: OOB, my first impression was of pine, to be fair. When I opened the bottle later it was more reminiscent of fresh herbal lavender. It's safe to say this has camphorous notes. Used more conservatively, it developed a gentler, clean, but robust herbal bloom of rosemary and lavender in cold throw. It warmed up nicely in hot throw. I imagine if one uses more, it could smell of pine only, as it does at first OOB. It would be great mixed with cedar and other woody FO's for a forest vibe.

"Not what I expected." |
COMMENTS: I purchased this FO to actually use alone, not blended. The description sounded earthy, simple, & completely herbal, which is exactly what I was going for. When I first smelled this FO, my first thought was maybe it had gotten mislabeled by mistake, as it didn't smell herbal to me at all. I couldn't pick up any of the aromatic notes listed in the description, as it was more crisp-smelling with strong base notes of pine. Smelled so much like a Pine Tree, that I ended up adding quite a good amount of Lemon EO to it, trying to steer away from having it smell too much like a Christmas scent... That did help a little. I wouldn't say the aroma is unpleasant AT ALL, just definitely not what I thought it was going to smell like. I used room temp lye water & oils @ 100°F and experienced some acceleration as well. Not too extreme to where it wasn't workable, but I did have to move fast. No ricing or discoloration though, and that's always a good thing, as I'd take mild to moderate acceleration over ricing ANY day! All in all, it was an Ok FO. I was bummed it wasn't the straight-up green herbal aroma I was hoping for, but it wasn't a bad scent either. I have had such great experiences with WSP's FO's that this doesn't leave me jaded in the least, just that I will look for a more herbal-smelling FO in the future... WSP has MANY! Besides, with this one being a Fragrance Formulator, I'm sure there are plenty of options one can use to make a unique & custom blend with this. On it's own though, I was a little disappointed.
