Sweet black honey and warm vanilla musk make for the perfect blend for softening this rich patchouli wood.
Scent is one of the most powerful of our five senses. Smelling a fragrance can trigger a treasured memory and provoke enjoyable thoughts. When designing products, consider how your customers will use your products. Will they be washed off? Will they be used to fragrance a home? Will they be used in conjunction with other products and how will those scents smell when combined? Consider complimenting your scent with coordinating colors.

Directions:
To Determine The Amount of Fragrance Oil Used In A Product:
The amount of fragrance that should be used in a formulation depends on three factors:
1) The maximum amount of scent the product base will accept .
2) The maximum IFRA skin safe level.
3) The amount of fragrance that smells good in your product.
You will look at these three maximum guidelines and use the LOWEST percentage.
For example: Desired smell is 5%, making MP soap is 3%, and the IFRA max use is 15%. You should not use more than 3% in your product. This 3% is the lowest of all of those numbers.
Maximum Product Base Guidelines:
MP Soap: 3% CP, HP, CPOP Soap: 6% Lotions and Scrubs: 1 – 2% Bath Salts, Fizziest & Tub Soaks: 5-10% Candle Wax: 6-12% (see specific wax for exact levels)
To Determine The IFRA Guidelines:
IFRA is a self-regulating trade organization that together with the industry's scientific center RIFM (the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials), establishes usage safety standards for materials that comprise fragrance and essential oils. Each year IFRA updates their standards based on sound science.
Wholesale Supplies Plus updates IFRA documents annually so that customers can stay up-to-date with the latest science. If you find IFRA levels have changed for your formula, it is standard to take 2 years to update products in the market. You can find Wholesale Supplies Plus IFRA documents on the “documents” tab of this product page.
Additional Information:
Fragrance oils that contain vanilla or vanillin will change color. The color change can take days, weeks, or months and can vary from a light ivory to dark brown. Our Crafter’s Choice Vanilla Color Stabilizers and Crafter’s Choice Vanilla Color Neutralizer will prevent some products from changing color. Oils that are dark in color, contain floral notes or spices may in time naturally change color.

COMMENTS: I'm very sad to say that when I used this in my CP soap, it seized almost immediately, which is a downright shame because it smells amazing. I might get this again to use in scrubs because it really does smell amazing - it's just not good for CP soap.

"So disappointing!" |
COMMENTS: I really hate to give a thumbs down to this fragrance because it smells wonderful. However, It performs poorly in cold process soap. Within seconds after adding...my batter seized. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews on this one as I normally do. Since I only do cold process, I will never purchase again.

COMMENTS: I really like the smell of this one, but it seized up before I could even get it in the mold. It's a bowl-shaped blob. I still have a little left that I will use in lotion or M&P, but I do not recommend it for cold process.

"I really wanted to like this one" |
COMMENTS: You know the smell you get when you find out your package of colloidal oats accidentally got wet? That musty toast scent with a side of wet almonds? That is what I smelled. I thought maybe it was because I had a cold so went with it, thinking it would mellow out and the honey, or even patchouli, would come through. But no. At least the scent didn't fade. What was worse is that the batter seized almost immediately and almost didn't get it into the mold. But at least it didn't discolor. Its a shame because judging by the description it really sounded like a warm and inviting alternative to an oatmeal, milk and honey type fragrance.

"Honey & Patchouli FO" |
COMMENTS: Smells nothing like Patchouli, but does have a sweet musk scent that I enjoy. Upon adding the FO the batter immediately seized and I had to press it into the mold. It's a very rustic looking bar of soap and I enjoy the scent but I won't be buying it again for this reason.

"skeptical " |
COMMENTS: I had ordered this fragrance from another company and was looking to duplicate it. Although it did not smell the same I was pleasantly surprised at the fragrance and my family loves it. The fragrance is very unisex and was safe enough to use on my granddaughters aged 1 an 2 in cold process soap the. Fragrance holds up well in the soap and lingers nicely on your skin after a shower. I have not had a fragrance ( that I soaped with ) to saturate my skin as powerfully as this one and I love it!

"Honey & Patchouli" |
COMMENTS: The scent on this is great if you like patchouli. The honey tones down the patchouli a little. I have made this soap twice. People love the scent but, it accelerates very fast. Do not plan on doing any swirls. I ended up with a rough looking top on my soap because I had to just dump it in the mold and hope for the best. I have also used the regular patchouli and I did not have any problems with acceleration with that.

"Seized!!!" |
COMMENTS: This fragrance did an instant seize. I had to pound it in the mold and pray. Urban Cowboy seizes on me but it must be a slow seize for I had NO time with this honey/patchouli fragrance. Will not buy again. Not my favorite scent either but then patchouli isn't my favorite. Wanted to try it for I have some customers that like patchouli but it won't be this one.

"New Best Selling Hemp Soap" |
COMMENTS: I received the Honey & Patchouli Fragrance Oil as a sample with my order. I decided I would create a Honey Hemp Patchouli Bar since I wanted to expand my Hemp Soap options. I lined my silicone 12 bar mold with small bubble wrap squares to go with the honey/bee theme. I mixed half detergent free honey m&p and half detergent free hemp m&p bases together then add just a drop of liquid brown oxide to give it a honey color and then added the Honey & Patchouli Oil. Poured and let harden. Came out perfect looking...and smelled insanely good. You can smell the floral notes but it is also very clean, warm and full smelling. We premiered the soap this past Sunday at the Farmers Market and it was my best selling Hemp Soap. Men and women chose it again and again. I am not a floral or herbal scent lover...I prefer sweet or foodie scents. But I can not wait to make more of this.

COMMENTS: I have used this honey and patchouli and then just plain patchouli. I believe that the honey sped up trace a little faster than I wanted but the smell was great. I will just tweak my recipe in the future so that I have plenty of time to pour. The plain patchouli is fantastic! No complaints....

"Nice scent but not for swirling in CP" |
COMMENTS: This is a nice fragrance but the honey not is not immediately obvious. It reminds me of a department store cosmetic counter. This fo is not for the inexperienced to use in cp. I used one ounce ppo. It immediately thickened my soap batter and heated up. It had to be spooned it the mold and was ready to unmold in less than 8 hrs. There is minimal, if any discoloration. My basic recipe has more than 50% solid oils and butters. Maybe it would be better for a castile base. If I can't get it to behave in that it will be strictly HP. This test batch was made in Oct 2013 and still smells great.

"Fastest Seize on Earth!!" |
COMMENTS: Out of the bottle, I just loved this fragrance oil. It was clean and deep and a well rounded scent. I could not wait to make soap with it. I mixed up a batch of my usual oil blend and all was going as normal, then I added this fragrance oil. Wow! In seconds I had a solid chunk of soap in the bottom of the pot. Literally solid, like stone, like soap that was days old. I pried it out of the pot with a large spoon and forced the hardened chunks into the mold. It began to gel before I could clean up the mess. So, I covered it and insulated it and after a few hours, it had begun to sort of melt a bit. I will see tomorrow what has become of it. It will be an ugly soap, but I plan to use it anyway, if it tests okay, PH-wise.Such a shame that this wonderful scent can not be made into beautiful CP soap. I might try it in a lotion or lotion bar, or maybe hair conditioner.

"Disappointing" |
COMMENTS: I used this in CP at one ounce ppo. I soap cool and do not gel. But when this was added to the soap, it immediately went grainy, hot and into gel... yikes! The next morning, there was an unpleasant oiliness to the top of the soap. And after all that, several weeks later, the scent has faded to just about nothing. Not recommended for CP.

COMMENTS: First let me say this scent is really good. Not too strong or soft, balanced just right. I had to take off one star because this gave me instant soap on a stick when trying to CP. Had to save the batch by HP. Not sure if the headache is worth the repurchasing of this scent.

"Smells good, but..." |
COMMENTS: I just made room temp CP with this FO and it accelerated and riced. Once I got it all mixed, it started gelling almost as soon as it hit the mold so I popped it in the fridge. It then started leaking oil, so I put it back into my soap pot and stirred it back together - basically HP'd it without adding any more heat since it was already in gel - and then glopped it back in the mold. It smells really nice, and I might attempt another batch but if I do, I'll add the FO to my oils before I add the lye solution to see if that slows things down. Don't know if it discolors or not - too early to tell.
