Staff Answer No, you can use a fragrance with vanilla if you wish - we would just recommend that you add vanilla color stabilizer for lotions to avoid a color change if you do.

Staff Answer Yes, you can add a carrier oil to a lotion base. If adding more than 5% additives, including fragrance, an additional preservative will need to be added.

"Does it have to be a fragrance oil? can it be essential oils? also is it paraben free ? last what is the shelf life, please"

Staff Answer You can use either a fragrance or essential oil in any lotion base. This lotion base is not paraben free. The shelf life is one year from purchase plus one additional year once the lotion is made. So, basically, two years.

Staff Answer We carry a Goat Milk and Honey lotion base so you do not need to add it. It is hard to incorporate a milk powder into a ready-made base. You could incorporate a small amount of colloidal oatmeal to a lotion base if you wish.

Staff Answer This lotion can be packaged in a plastic bottle with pump or disk top. This video shows how to heat and add color and fragrance. The packaging is your choice. The lotion may need to be heated slightly longer so it can thin out more and be poured into a bottle.
