There actually is a lock/unlock button on the top of this stick blender. I cannot get it to stay lock while I use it. Also there are instructions on the lock/unlock on page 6 of the manual but I tried to do this and it will not stay in the locked position. It is hard to use without the ability to lock it as it will not run. It is too difficult to hold down the lock button and the speed button at the same time to blend with it.

Staff Answer The lock/unlock button does need to be pressed along with the High/Low button. Once both buttons are pressed, you can release the Lock/Unlock button and the mixer will continue to blend. We did test this and found this to work correctly. You do not have to keep the top button pressed down while holding in the speed button. "What is the model number of this particular item. Cuisinart makes several 200-watt, Smart Stick emmersion blenders but the pricing seems to range anywhere from $30 to $90. Just wanted to make sure I was comparing the same thing before I purchased."
