"Can this extracts be added to " oil "only products without a preservative! I know they are oil soluble. If so, what would you reccomend? "

Staff Answer This extract does contain a preservative. If you think your product will be used after the shower and have water contamination, we recommend adding Preservative – Phenoxyethanol + CG.

"If i add this extract (at 2 -3 %) to a WSP lotion base (paraben-free lotion), do i need to add a preservative to my finished product? Thank you"

Staff Answer The extract does contain a preservative already (Sodium Benzonate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid) and, of course, the lotion base does also. There is no need for any additional preservative.

"I accidentally bought this sample set to add to My body butter. Whoops! How can I incorporate this as water And oil do not mix? I do have poly 80 on hand. What would be the ratio to use the poly 80 with Water based extract?"

Staff Answer If adding a small amount of the extract to your butters, it should blend in fine. If adding a large amount of the extract, you will need the poly 80. Start with the same amount of poly 80 to the extract. If it is still separating, add a small amount at a time until the ingredients no longer separate.

Staff Answer You can use this extract in CP soap. We would recommend adding at trace because we are not sure how the extract will react to the heat from the lye.

Staff Answer Yes, but make sure not to add too much. Adding too much may decrease the lather, make the bar soft or cause the soap to sweat. The usage rate for this product is 0.5% to 5%. For mp soap, we recommend staying closer to the bottom of the range.

Staff Answer Yes. You do not need to add a preservative unless you add water to your lotion. The Bamboo Extract has a small amount of citric acid which acts as a preservative in it.
