Directions:
Lip Products: Melt beeswax in double boiler or small pot on low heat. Once melted, add solid butters. Remove from heat. Add liquid oils and flavor oil. Mix well. Pour into lip tubes, small jars or other lip product packaging. View our Lip Product Recipes for detailed instructions.

Lotion Bars: Melt beeswax in double boiler or pot on low heat. Once melted, add solid butters. Remove from heat. Add liquid oils and fragrance. Mix well. Pour into mold or lotion bar container at an appropriate temperature for mold or packaging. Allow mixture to solidify. View our Lotion Bar Recipes for detailed instructions.

Air Fresheners: Melt equal parts beeswax and palm kernel flakes (102º melt) in a small pot on low heat. Remove from heat. Incorporate fragrance. Pour into mold at an appropriate temperature for the mold. Allow mixture to solidify. Unmold and enjoy. View our Air Freshener Recipes for detailed instructions.

CP Soap: Use at about 1-3% of your oils and calculate with your oils in a lye calculator. Beeswax has a high melt point so raise the temperature of the oils to about 160ºF or 170ºF before mixing it in. It is necessary to soap hotter, around 120ºF, and be prepared for accelerated trace. Staff Answer In general, you should expect beeswax to hold 6%, or 1 oz fragrance oil to- 1 pound of candle wax. Some candle-makers use a higher percentage (up to 12%), but this is something you would need to test.

"I have this product that I purchased last year. On the packaging Batch# is 10/25/2019 and it also say use by 10/25/19. Is this "use by date" correct ? I never heard of beeswax having an expiration date and in your data sheet, it also says stable. Smell is a little off to me also. Thank you"

Staff Answer The use by date is incorrect. We recommend checking the product 1 year after purchasing to ensure the product appears okay, but as long as it doesn't smell rancid it should be okay.

Staff Answer We recommend making a small batch to test this. You can start with around 10% beeswax. You need to come up with a nice consistency that is not too waxy.

"I know it says refined, but does this ivory beeswax still SMELL like beeswax? I ask because someone mentioned that it has a slightly smoky scent that is easily covered, which is fine for what I need, but I also NEED it to retain its natural beeswax/honey smell and would like to know before purchasing. Staff Answer This would really be a personal thing. Everyone smells things differently. This does, we feel, have an extremely slight smoky odor. Some people may smell beeswax, others may not.

Staff Answer Some people use up to 1 tablespoon per pound to raise the melt point and help the bar last longer. Personally, I feel in doing that the lather is less.

Staff Answer If mixing color in with the beeswax, you want to use a color that mixes with oils. A water based color may not mix in well and can separate. All the colors on our site will tell you what the color mixes best with.
