Best wax for my Vegan Deodorants

"Only the best ingredients to make best deodorant recipe."

Alma H. (5/5)

Lovely green floral, but. . .

"If you like fresh green scents and breezy, springtime floral fragrances, this is a good one to try. It is a very pleasant fragrance, well balanced between the green and the floral; it is not overly floral or old smelling, but lovely and feminine. It soaped well for me and a week after making in cold process soap, the scent retention thus far is nice and strong and the colors are staying true. I used lavender, greens and titanium dioxide for white; thankfully, I am not noticing any of WSP's reported discoloration. The only issue I have is that WSP sells their fragrances by volume instead of weight. Thinking the 4 oz. bottle should at least be somewhat close to the net wt. , I originally thought the price wasn't bad. I weighed out the fragrance before planning my batch though; I am glad I did. The 4 fl. oz. bottle is only 3. 4 oz. net wt. ! Customers cannot properly gauge the cost of fragrances like this, nor plan their making when ordering fragrances by volume. I realize it is easier for WSP to go by bottle size (volume), but it seems it would be more honest to include the net wt. as well, especially given the fact that their wonderful recipes on the website, go by weight, not volume, so they know how important that is to us all! Thank you for a lovely fragrance and hopefully shortly down the road, fragrances sold by weight!"

Great Alternative

"Vegan beeswax is a great alternative to non-vegan beeswax. It works just as well. Depending on what you are making, you may need a little more or a little less than the non-vegan."

Q&A

Can this be used as an alternative to the emulsifying wax used in making lotions?
You can't swap out emulsifying wax for beeswax because beeswax isn't an emulsifier. This means it won't effectively combine water and oil to form a stable emulsion like emulsifying wax is meant to do. If you use beeswax instead, you're likely to end up with a mixture that separates in your product.
In reference to using it in vegan wax melts, is this better than using the candelilla wax alone? If my recipe called for 10% beeswax would I substitute it 1 for 1 or is it like regular candelilly and is 2xs as hard as beeswax?
If you're replacing 10% beeswax with the Beeswax Vegan Alternative, you can typically substitute it 1:1. It will likely give you a more beeswax-like result than using candelilla wax alone, which is typically much harder. If you use candelilla wax alone, be aware that you may need to adjust the formulation because it will make your wax melts harder and more brittle. Depending on your final texture and performance preferences, you might also experiment with mixing candelilla wax and the Beeswax Vegan Alternative for a balanced effect.
Is this wax compatible with soy butter?
You will need to test this.
Looking to make skin products for my daughter who is vegan. I see you don't carry Sunflower wax and was looking at this as an alternative. Can you provide verification from the supplier on the sourcing of this product?
Our manufacturer does not provide sourcing for the product's ingredients.
My business is plant based, vegan niche. I am looking at this wax but I was also wondering if there is a way we can obtain verification of some sort that this product is in fact vegan and biodegradable? This is a product that I am wanting to present to those that are looking to fund my business and we are putting a lot of emphasis of being vegan and eco-friendly. Dennis
