"Good Mica"
COMMENTS: Color is more grey than black when mixed into a white base, or you have to use a LOT to get it to a black color but it is still a great color to use in products.
COMMENTS: I had to add a ridiculous amount of mica for soap to achieve a “black” color. & now I’m afraid it might stain rubs or showers when used. But once I was able to achieve the color the soap looked amazing.
COMMENTS: I use this in my Drakkar Noir sugar scrub for men, The scent is amazing but the color is not. After following the instructions (adding 1/8 teaspoon) my scrub turned more gray then black. Maybe i didn't mix it right or something, but it was still a nice color for a men scrub.

"Black as "Knight"!"
COMMENTS: This is a great alternative to activated charcoal in CP if you're looking for a true black with a bit of sparkle! A little goes a long way too, making this mica very economical! I'm usually more drawn to using activated charcoal to achieve gray to black hues in my CP soaps, but even though AC has it's benefits (my skin likes it!), it can still lather a bit gray (especially when used in higher amounts), which can be a tad off-putting to some customers. I really like that with this mica, I didn't notice any gray lather or run-off in my soap. I imagine, as with any mica of darker hue, higher usuage rates may affect the color of lather, but with the usuage rate used in my CP recipe (.5tsp/PPO), that wasn't the case... I was able to get a deep black, and lather was not affected! I'm personally not bothered by activated charcoal soaps that lather with a gray tinge, but for more finicky customers, this mica is GREAT! One can still achieve the intended design/color and still have it appeal to customers who aren't particularly fond of their soaps lathering gray. I absolutely recommend this FO & will be back for more! Mixed with a bit of TD, it also makes for a nice gray hue with a hint of sparkle, so this mica is very versatile too!

COMMENTS: Recently I re-ordered black iron oxide for painting on bath bombs but this time it's VERY potent and smudged easily so I tried using this Mica. This mica is perfect for painting bombs. Disperses in alcohol easily, doesn't smudge very much, draws on well, and I like the tiny bit of sparkle it gives. Haven't tried it in other products yet but I'm sure it would be lovely in m&p!

"Works well in CP"
COMMENTS: I was a bit worried about using a black mica because I was concerned about getting black lather. But I tried a black & white color scheme for a men's soap. I probably wound up using about 3/4 tsp of the mica in 20 oz of oils. It did change to a slightly lighter shade of black. It's not gray, but definitely lighter. My batter was very white & I think I should have used a bit more of the mica in my batter. Will know what to expect next time & will add a bit more of the mica. I'm still pleased with the soap. There are various shades of the black because the other 1/2 of my batter was white. So overall, I'm pleased with this mica.

"Not my favorite"
COMMENTS: I got this sample in hopes of darkening my other colors, which it did just fine and got me darker reds and blues, but without any polysorbate, the black separates and sticks to EVERYTHING - including skin! Even when only a pinch was added. The mica itself was nice, but not for what I planned on using it for.
COMMENTS: I bought this to try pencil lines and must say that I couldn't be happier. Be careful when handling it, it can get everywhere if you aren't careful. I love the dramatic look it gives to light colored soaps when used as a pencil line.

COMMENTS: This color pairs perfect with the black cherry fragrance, easy to blend.
COMMENTS: Made a black and white cold processed soap for men and this Mica came thru as a true black. Was afraid it might turn gray, but using 3tsp. in 1/2 of my 5lb recipe it's BLACK!! So happy with the results.
