"I love vanilla, but not this"

COMMENTS: I am not sure if WSP changed the formulation of this one or not, I hope. 2 calibrate MY tastes, so hopefully u find this review helpful, I love vanilla and tend more toward bakery smells. I hate artificial smells. I pulled out bottles I rarely use 2 get rid of them and I remembered why dont use this one - I hated it from my first try with it. Not sure about all the rave reviews? It smells so artificial and has a plastic-y cloying throw on the skin. It's very chemical. Nothing like the amazing Wedding Cake they produce which I go to all the time for my vanilla scent. I had to add this review because I am so disappointed and perplexed by the ratings.

COMMENTS: Wonderful vanilla scent. Not artificial smelling like so many others can be. This is great for blending with other scents to mellow them out a bit. I mixed it 1/2 vanilla, 1/4 bergamot and 1/4 lemon for the most delicious bath fizzy. My daughter is in love with this scent mixture and is begging me to make some more.

"Great Vanilla"

COMMENTS: Smooth and slightly sweet this vanilla is great on its own or blending with other fragrances. It has a rich vanilla scent that isn't too perfumey or too food-like. It walks a happy line right in between. Has excellent staying power in CP soap, and discolors to a dark tan. I had no issues with acceleration or ricing in my soap.

"Deluxe Vanilla Fragrance Oil"

COMMENTS: One of the better Vanilla Fragrances out there. This is my second bottle of it and my customers love it. I combine it with the Lavender fragrance oil and it is just lovely. Of course, you have to go easy with the Lavender fragrance as it does tend to be overpowering. But if you add just a small amount of the Lavender fragrance to this Deluxe Vanilla fragrance, the resulting scent is soft smelling and nice. It does have a bit more vanillin in it, so you really have to make sure that you use the vanilla stabilizer or the soaps will turn in time to a darker shade. However, that's not a bad thing. One batch of soap that I made (and I forgot to add the stabilizer) actually sold quite well. It began with a pretty beige color and by the time I sold that last bar, it had turned a very light brown color that matched quite well with the very pale orange color that I poured on the top of the soap loaf!!

COMMENTS: I had hoped that only using a little of this in large batches would cut down on discoloration, but even a little causes a major discoloration to a milk chocolate color. It's my own mistake for not using a stabilizer though. The vanilla scent is true and incredibly strong. Wonderful scent, just use a stabilizer if you want to choose your own color.

"Sweet and rich"

COMMENTS: The sweet and rich scent of this fragrance oil has made it a standard offering among our cold process soaps. On its own it does discolor to an attractive, deep chocolate brown. Vanilla color stabilizer reduces the discoloring, but in our experience does not eliminate it entirely, with some patches of chocolate brown developing in the soaps as they age. It behaves very well in CP soap. It's been a great blender for us too as we've developed some of our own fragrances.

"Excellent, Strong and Lovely Scent"

COMMENTS: I purchased this FO to scent some vanilla/lavender bath teas and soy candles for Christmas gifts. The aroma is WONDERFUL both OOTB and in my creations and I am extremely pleased! The price when I made the order made me cringe a little, BUT it changed the minute I saw the size of the bottle (2oz) which was a much larger quantity than I thought it would be - AND after I compared the 1oz price at other retailers to the 2oz price at WSP. It took very little to scent the bath teas, and I should still be able to do the two batches of matching soy candles to give with them once I receive my latest shipment of wax flakes! I can't wait!

COMMENTS: Like others have said, this is a great vanilla scent: like Vanilla ice cream, not French Vanilla, not like vanilla beans or extract, just a creamy vanilla.

COMMENTS: There are so many different vanilla fragrances, on WSP and elsewhere, but I think the Deluxe Vanilla is a great option for someone looking for a very sweet, creamy vanilla fragrance. It's a little bit sweeter than I anticipated, but I will be mixing it with another FO anyway to mellow down the sweetness I did expect so that doesn't bother me. Overall it's a nice vanilla, and blending with another vanilla FO is always an option as well if it's not quite spot on for you.

COMMENTS: Good vanilla scent that isn't too "sweet." Blends nicely with other fragrances. Cures with nice depth. As with all vanillas, there is some discoloration.

"A touch goes well with everything!"

COMMENTS: I think another reviewer commented on this -- I don't think this vanilla stands up well as a scent all on its own. It works best as a blend (but then so do most fragrance oils!) What makes this vanilla special is that it blends well with nearly everything! A half part of this fragrance mixes extremely well with orange and lavender essential oil. Just a touch went very well in a cranberry/orange blend. And I used it to great effect with a blend of chocolate fragrance oils for my soap cupcakes. So far it has turned my white cold process soap "frosting" a light cream/tan and the pink is morphing into an interesting dusty rose even though I used vanilla stabilizer AND added white pigment so just account for some discoloration even if you use the stabilizer with this oil.

Thank you for your review. One suggestion regarding the discoloring, try our Crafter's Choice Vanilla Color Stabilizer - CP Soap (it is also available for MP Soap and Lotions/Washes). This fragrance has 17% vanilla content. The stabilizer prevents the vanilla in fragrance oils from turning lye based soap formulations brown. It will not prevent color changes due to ingredients other than vanilla. It works really well - we use it often.

COMMENTS: I always wanted to make a vanila soap, and I just love Deluxe Vanilla Fragrance Oil 138. I used it with a vanilla color stabilizer to prevent discoloration in my soap. the vanila scent is really nice and sweet. Perform very well in CP soap.

COMMENTS: This is one of the best Vanillas on the market! I added just a splash of WSP's Caribbean Coconut fragrance to sweeten it even more. The combo of Deluxe Vanilla and Caribbean Coconut made the soap smell just like Vanilla Pudding...YUM!
