Product Details

Our Goat Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base is a detergent free soap base that is opaque and white in color. It contains goat milk, which is loaded with vitamins, beta-casein, and protein for properties that will hydrate and nourish dry skin. The two-pound tray is the perfect size container for projects making (8) 4 oz. bars of soap. The lid allows for unused soap to easily be stored for future use.

Directions:

MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.

MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.

ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!

CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

"I am really enjoying making soap with this base. However, I am a little confused about when to wrap the soap after unmolding. The information about the soap base says it can be left unwrapped for a couple of weeks to cure like cold process soap but, some of the recipes using this soap say to wrap immediately. "Great Soap"

COMMENTS: This soap base is good quality. Lathers well and leaves your skin feeling very soft. Only issue I have is that it takes forever to set up to suspend additives. Other than that, this goat milk soap base is one of the best on the market and I have tried quite a few over the years.

COMMENTS: So I’m just getting into soaps (primarily do candles) and I don’t have the patience to learn cold process so I decided to try melt and pour. Y’all…this base is absolutely amazing!!! My skin doesn’t feel dry after using it which is rare for me. This base by itself really doesn’t need any other additives besides color and scent for your skin to feel great. I highly recommend.

"Amazing! "

COMMENTS: I love this soap base, it's my go-to. It's very easy to work with, melts nice and evenly. Doesn't have to be heated up as much as some other bases, and stays melted long enough to work with add-ins and pouring. I use it to make goats milk soaps with different add-ins, and add a layer of it to my honey soaps for some extra moisturizing. It has a nice creamy lather.

COMMENTS: Smooth, velvety and produces a lovely soap. I initially had an issue with melting the goat milk base with a honey glycerine base but the customer service people were fantastic. The CS manager followed up and was greatly concerned with my issue but it ended up being "operator error". I was trying to micro too much at one time. Since then I've started using the double boiler method which actually works out WAY better for me. When I do very small quantities, I use the micro. Thank you to the CS manager! It all worked out!

COMMENTS: I love goat milk soap base. Another supplier I bought goat milk base from was dry, flakey, and fell apart while cutting. This one was so soft and creamy and didn't fall apart and leave flakes everywhere. My hands are so soft just from cleaning my measuring cups. Will definitely buy again.

"Favorite Soap"

"BEST BASE THERE IS!"

COMMENTS: This base melts better than any base I've tried. It stays consistently fluid and pourable and doesn't even start to get thick till around 100 F or so. It is super moisturizing and feels great on my skin. It also helps that it doesn't have detergents in it.

"Wonderful Soap Base"

COMMENTS: Very little sweating on this one. I love that it is detergent free. I am a cold process soap maker, however, I have ventured in to making some specialty soaps for a fundraiser. I was so unsure which base to buy and went out on a limb and purchased this one. I am so glad that I did. I absolutely love the way it performs. Colors and fragrances stay true and it is so creamy. This will be my go to soap from now on.

"Favorite M&P Base So Far"

COMMENTS: This M&P base is my favorite so far! I had my bars out for a week and there was zero sweat on them by the time I got around to packaging them. For being a detergent-free base, this soap still lathers a lot (actually more than other M&P bases that have detergent in them that I've tried). I will be using this base a lot for now on.

"Help my sister"

COMMENTS: This is one of our core bases that we use. It is a nice creamy soap base that provides a sulfate free alternative for those that desire a more natural base. The only difficulty I have ever had is that it can became somewhat pliable. I would recommend using it for thicker molds.

"Detergent free Goats Milk M & P"

COMMENTS: This is far superior to brands from craft stores. It stays liquid long enough to pour into molds. The stuff from the craft store began to stiffen before I finished pouring it. This is wonderful on my skin. I added 2 T. of honey and essential oils to one pound they blended well without seperation. Maybe it was a little more difficult to extract from the plastic mold because of the honey, but just put it in the freezer for a few minutes and it was fine. Came out of silicone molds very easily. Love it!

"Love this base"

COMMENTS: Base stays stays "liquified" at low temps making it very easy to work with when making multiple layers, swirls or intricate designs. Not having to heat the base up every minute so that it remains fluid is a BIG positive!! I just wish these bases were more natural than they are but if you want an extra clear base that remains fluid at low low temps than this us for you!

"Best Soap Ever! "

COMMENTS: Detergent free bases from other companies cool down too quickly and get gloppy before putting them in the mold. Not WSP. These DF bases melt down smooth and allow me to get temps low enough to do gorgeous swirls. I'll never use any other base.

COMMENTS: I use this for making embeds for my CP goat milk soap. It's so much easier to just melt a quarter pound or so than figure out a CP recipe for just a couple bars. My only complaint is that it sweats when then CP is curing, not a big deal and I knew it would happen.

COMMENTS: This is my all-time FAVORITE of all of the detergent free soap bases wsp carries! Just purchased the 24 pound size & am super excited to get it here. This is a very smooth & creamy soap. "Great Goat Milk Soap"

COMMENTS: This is a pure white, detergent free goat milk soap. I have very dry skin and I think this is my favorite of all the M&P bases. It nourishes my skin and I don't feel as dry or have to use as much lotion if I use this base. It lathers well, does not sweat. It takes color and FO & EO easily and I use it alone or mix it with a clear M&P base. Highly recommend

COMMENTS: Love the trays! These are pretty perfect when you are making batch after batch of soaps! Instead of cutting the 24lb blocks, you just great a tray, cut and start soaping. The best thing though, its a perfect amount for the Loaf Molds sold here on WSP! I usually buy the block but found these so much more convenient and I dont have to weigh anything out!

"Detergent Free Goat Milk Soap"

COMMENTS: What can I say - Can't keep this one in stock as my customers buy it up as soon as I get it made up into bars and packaged. People are really into DETERGENT FREE soaps, especially goat milk soaps. This lathers up with lots of bubbles and leaves your skin feeling so clean and soft. One of my favorites too! COMMENTS: This is hands down my favorite soap to work with. It is completely odorless, moisturizing, paraben free, builds up a creamy lather and the powder colors show up extremely well in this. It also holds scents amazingly. When I first started out making soaps, I used this soap and added fragrance oils that contain vanilla without a vanilla stabilizer. To this day, the soap did not change color. I'm not sure if it's the soap or that I didn't use enough of the fragrance to make a change, but regardless, I love everything about this soap. I will continue to purchase it again and again!

"Goat Milk Soap - It does the skin good"

"An excellent, economical soap base"

COMMENTS: Along with shea butter, this is the white base I use the most of. If you're going to use a white glycerin soap base, why not use one that has the added benefit of a butter or milk added to it? I will say this is has a creamy tint and is not pure white, but it is white enough that I have no issues with it changing any of the colors I add to it. I love how it makes a nice firm bar of soap, and I really love the benefits of using goat milk soap! It is mild enough for babies - my grandchildren have used the honey and goat milk soaps I make since they were infants. My customers love my goat milk soaps!
