Product Details

Our Goat Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base is a detergent free soap base that is opaque and white in color. It contains goat milk, which is loaded with vitamins, beta-casein, and protein for properties that will hydrate and nourish dry skin. The 23 pound big block is ideal for larger projects, as it will make (92) 4 oz. bars of soap. Soap comes in a blue bag with twist tie and corrugate box. A single block measures 13 x 11.5 x 6 inches.

Directions:

MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.

MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.

ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!

CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

"My soap is not hardening. After having issues, I melted the base by itself double boiler method just until melted and poured into molds. Even without any additives, soap stays soft and pliable and does not harden as it should. It has been about 12 hours and it is still soft. Other bases I've tried from different brands harden in 2-3 hours."

"hi I recently bought this item being "low sweat" and no wrap option for humid areas and instead of moisture dew i started to get oil dew (which hardened on the surface). I poured about 145F which i believe was the suggestion. Did i mix way to much fragrance (5 tsp to 2 lbs soap base) to get an oil residue? i am wondering what went wrong as i would really love to keep using this option for my soaps. are there any usage guides for this brand? Staff Answer Big blocks of mp soap are a single block packaged in a bag with a twist tie and then placed in a box. Trays of soap are 2 pounds of soap in a plastic tray with a plastic lid.

When you order a case of soap, it is packaged in a bag around the block of soap. Then it has its own separate box.

I ordered a large block of soap, it was extremely difficult to pick up the package it came in, it was so heavy! Upon opening the box I saw a thick clear plastic bag and a twist tie was around the soap. I would cut & weigh how much soap I needed, then tie the bag back up whenever I used it.

It is labeled on the side of the cardboard box it comes in with a sticker of what it is. When you open the box, the soap is wrapped in a plastic bag with a twist tie around the top.

Coloring mediums all come down to personal preference. Some find liquids easy to use, but others like the vibrancy of color bars, or the natural aspects of some powders.

I tend to use mica's when coloring my batches. Everyone will have their own type that they tend to use- but I think the mica's work the best. Also, the mica's go a long way- a tiny amount will do a lot.

Staff Answer If you are coloring soap in just one color, our Stained Glass Liquid dyes work the best. If you are using multiple colors in your bar, you should use the pigments and oxides (powder or color bar) since these colors will not bleed into each other.

I used Crafters Choice Stained Glass liquid pigment in this MP Soap and had very good results. I also used the Vanilla Color Stabilizer for MP Soap, so that might have helped in preserving the color. Coconut Milk MP Soap will cause your color to have a creamy look, since the soap itself is white. I'm very happy using liquid pigment.

It depends on which type of soap you are making... Melt and pour soaps *generally* do better with liquid dyes, but you can also use powder mixed in with a little glycerin. Cold process soaps usually work better with powders (mixed with a little glycerin). Liquid dyes can sometimes fade rapidly in CP soaps due to the caustic nature of the lye.

the best results we have had in coloring MP soap is by using liquid dyes and/or color blocks. Just remember if your soap has a white base, you will need more colorant than the clear bases.

I like the liquids best. If you will start with one drop and stir and then keep adding drops one at a time, unless you know that you want it really dark, but write down how many drops you put in a specific recipe and it should come out the same every time as long as you are using the same kind of base. Just remember that if you change your oils it can make a difference in your color since some oils have a color to them. I hope this helps.

I like a variety of ways to color soap. I like all the non-bleeding or migrating colors the best. That way when I make my layers or embeds, their colors don't spread and look unprofessional. I like to use micas, and the stained glass colors and color bars to get a neat look in my soap.

"My ONLY Goats milk base from now on!"

COMMENTS: This is the ONLY Goat's milk soap I will ever use! If you have not tried this low sweat, detergent free soap base, you are missing out! What I love best is the fact that it melts at low temps (120) and stays liquid right down to 104, therefore you can swirl colors and make gorgeous soaps! I ran out and used a little of a "regular" goat's milk that I had, just to finish up a project. NEVER again! Love the fact I do not have to wrap it up straight away! I never have had sweat on any of my soaps and as a test, I left some out for weeks as a test! Give this a try, you will not be disappointed!

COMMENTS: This is the best Melt and Pour base that I have ever used! It doesn't have all the harsh chemicals like the bases I've found in stores. The lather is the best EVER! My husband is my tester and he absolutely loves the lather. It holds fragrance oil very well and doesn't smell like a chemical like some I have tried. It leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized. I highly recommend this base if you are making melt and pour soap. I also melt it and add it to the foaming bath whip for extra lather.

"Just the best base"

COMMENTS: I wanted to be as natural as possible and dont want detergents in my pet and childrens soaps. This base is creamy,great lather and no need for lotion after bathing. Blends great. Melts clean. Holds up well to all the different things I added to it. Holds colors and scents very well. My customers love it that its detergent free and so do I. Most definitely would recommend to everyone. I will be ordering more soon as Im almost out because its such a good seller. Hard soap from finished product. Is a lotion bar all on its own. COMMENTS: When making a large batch of soap this one is my favorite. Never a problem when working with a large batch. Certain fragrances are more popular than others and I like this convenience. I prefer using a non detergent melt and pour. This may sound strange but I like to rebatch some of my homemade soap because it contains numerous extra butters and oils and this brand blends well with the melt and pour, and the soap turns out superior. I like to work with new ideas and this is one of them.

"My favorite base"

COMMENTS: I've been making M & P soap for four years and have tried all of WSP's bases. While they are all excellent and superior to every other suppliers', this one is my favorite, as it's the creamiest and easiest on the skin and takes color and scent nicely, and has a luxurious lather. An added benefit is that it doesn't have to be wrapped - I've left sample bars out for weeks and they still look good and perform well, a lot like cold-process. All of my customers love bars made with this base. Wonderful product!

"Like but could like more."

COMMENTS: After using the M&P basic goats milk base for a long time this one was just okay for me. We LOVE that it has no detergents and lather is decent but the soap has a different smell. This smell comes through slightly in our soap. Customers can NOT tell the difference and love it because it is natural, detergent-free.

COMMENTS: The soap is very nice and the adding one pound because of the bag in soap is amazing it's the best deal in my town there's another wholesale place down the road but it would cost $160 compared to wholesale supplies plus's $48 and store bought it would be over $200 I'm so glad I found this website everything is so high quality here I'm never buying stuff from any other place again!

COMMENTS: This is the only White Soap I use and love it. Melts easily and I have no issues blending micas, scents or whatever else I may want to add. Lots of lather too! Decided to buy the block to get more for my money. Glad I did. Packaged within bag in a box makes much more sense than having a whole bunch of 2 lb plastic containers around. Not to mention the waste. Though I do recycle them. From now on only way I will buy my soap is by the block.

COMMENTS: I really, really, REALLY love this melt & pour. I'm new to the soap-making hobby, and this is by far the best I've used. I even tried the 'Premium' base, and found that to be watery, and unlike this base, the premium didn't have that soft, creamy, milky scent like this one. It smells great without fragrance being added, very easy to use creatively (adding scents, colors, oils, remelting), has great lather, and it's thick (but not too heavy) in consistency. I think this will be my go-to until I master the cold-process method. Good stuff, my soap-making friends. Good stuff, indeed.

"Goat milk soap"

"Switched over and love it"

COMMENTS: I normally purchase all my m&p soap bases from another company. I started with them and had every intention of always shopping with them. However their shipping prices are too high and shipping is too slow. So I posted on a FB soaping group I belong to asking for advice on where to buy bulk m&p and WSP kept being the answer given. I compared prices with regard to shipping and incentives and WSP seemed to be a better deal. Especially when you consider I have spent thousands...yes thousands with the other company and never got a rebate...not even a coupon. lol My detergent free Goats Milk arrived in a timely fashion. It was packaged as I expected. I found it easy to cut, softer than the other companies and very easy to melt. It poured smoothly and produced a nice glossy finish once unmolded. The only thing that might be a negative is it seems to take a little longer to harden in the molds but that is no issue for us. Just an extra 10-20 minutes wont hurt anything here since we normally are working on numerous soaps at a time. I wont be going back to the other company. I am and our customers are very happy with this Goats Milk Soap. Thank you

"The bag is embedded in the soap"

COMMENTS: I have ordered the 24 lb blocks of detergent free melt and pour soap ever since they came out without a problem. However, this time, both the goat's milk block and the clear block that I just opened have the bag stuck in them all around the bottom edge. So I am having to cut and pull the bag to get it unstuck from the soap. I think I read recently that the method for pouring the soap into the bags had changed, and if so, this is not a change for the good. I like to think that when I pay for a 24 lb block of soap, that I will get a full 24 lbs and not have the bag taking up some of the space where there really should have been soap. I don't know if my 2 cases are an anomaly or if this is the new norm, but I liked the old way the soap was poured better - never had a stuck bag once. Other than that, the soap is great. But I gave it 4 stars because of the problem with the bag.

Thank you for your review! You are correct, the method of pouring the soap has changed recently. Instead of raising product prices, we were able to cut back on labor costs by having the soap poured directly into the bag. We anticipate that some soap may be lost due to what you are experiencing with the bag getting stuck, so every block is now overfilled by 1 lb. to help make up for this. We hope that this information has proven helpful!
