Product Details

This Crafter's Choice Hemp Melt and Pour Soap Base is DETERGENT FREE and LOW SWEAT. Contains NATURAL HEMP OIL which is considered to be high in phospholipids, antioxidants, and omega 3's - all thought to be excellent for daily skincare regimes.

Directions:

MELT: Determine amount of melt and pour soap base needed for your project. Carefully slice soap base into small pieces and place in microwave safe container. Heat on low at 30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until liquid. Handle hot soap carefully as it may burn the skin. Soap can also be melted in a double boiler.

MOLD: Stir in cosmetic color, cosmetic scent, and skin safe additives. Pour into a Crafter's Choice mold. Spritz soap surface with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow to cool until hard.

ENJOY: Remove from mold and wrap with airtight plastic wrap. Your newly created melt and pour soap is now ready to use!

CAUTION: Melted soap is hot! For ages 15 and older.

Staff Answer To layer melt and pour soap, you will want to pour one layer and allow it to harden. Spritz it with rubbing alcohol and then pour your second layer at 128º F. This technique will allow the layers to remain defined.

Anything under 130 degrees should be fine ! But also make sure your soap underneath isn't still soft , or it will break that layer ! :D

COMMENTS: I purchased this to try and I will be buying the bigger size next! I love the feel of this base on the skin and it does not set up too fast. It does have a woody scent to it but it is easily covered with FO/EO of your choosing and takes color very well. The color is clear enough to add embeds if you choose. This will be my main base from now on!

"Hemp M & P"

COMMENTS: I used this base to make hemp charcoal soaps. Out of container it was a bit sticky, and had a very slight earthy scent. I added activated charcoal and used a few mg each of rosemary, peppermint, tea tree, eucalyptus, and lavender EOs. Looking forward to using the bars I made. The soap lathered wonderfully in clean up. My hands feel soft.

"Love the Hemp Oil"

COMMENTS: I reordered this product earlier this month (10#)to use with the Cannabis FO. I also wanted to tint with an appropriate green to carry thru with the cannabis/hemp. I experimented with some mica's and pigments but wasn't sold on the way it turned out. Then I foraged dandelion leaves (they are everywhere & FREE). Dehydrated & ground them into a powder. When I did a trial bar to see what the results would be I was thrilled. It came out the perfect green with some speckles which stayed suspended in this base. I'm so happy with WSP products. Note: my first order of the Hemp base I scented with WSP's Eucalyptus Basil FO and tinted with Evergreen mica powder. It was really good too...very masculine type scent/bar. This soap lasts well and nice lather.

"great facial soap"

COMMENTS: I love using hemp oil in my facial products because of the fact that it does not clog pores.. COMMENTS: I love this base. Bought this as well as a few other detergent free mp to make with my girls. It was easy to use and we had no problems coloring/scenting it. I personally like this base the best and I am super picky about mp. It does have more of a yellow tint to it. So if you are looking for a super clear base for embeds you might want to test a small bit first to see if it suits you.

COMMENTS: When I originally wanted to order the hemp base, it was out if stock, so I had to wait for WSP to restock it. As soon as I received the in stock email, I ordered it and I am so glad I did. The base melts beautifully and it didn't harden up too quickly, so I was able to add my color and fragrance oil with no problems. I used it as my clear base to add my mica to. The base itself is yellow in color and didn't have a scent, but it took my blue mica nicely and did not change the color nor did it change the scent of my fragrance oil. Upon testing my completed hemp based soap, I found that it lathers well and doesn't leave any sticky residue. It left my skin nice and soft to the touch. I will definitely be adding this base to my regular orders.

"Natural Looking Base"

COMMENTS: This base provides a natural looking bar of soap. I was suprised it produced so much lather when using it. I liked the color which made the bar of soap look unique and different. After I made the soap I found it did sweat but shrink wrapping it quickly minimized it. I wish the soap was available in a 24 pound block size.

COMMENTS: I love this m&p base. It is the first time I worked with a clear m&p with the plus that it is a hemp base. In the finished product, I used a little bit of lemon verbena herb and pieces remained in the body of the soap. So pretty! I used Fresh Bamboo Fragrance Oil. This past weekend I did an event and this soap was the star!! Will be doing this again and making it the centerpiece for upcoming events.

COMMENTS: This was my first experience using hemp soap and I was a bit nervous about it. I had read in a couple of reviews that it had an odor, but I find any odor to be very minimal. I used this base to make black cat soap, using black oxide to color(Worked GREAT !), Eucalyptus/ spearmint FO, and a mold I ordered from Russia. The cats are gorgeous and all of them sold very quickly. Next I will make some black hand soaps with the same fragrance and highlighted with a little gold sparkle mica powder. This soap lathers extremely well and leaves my hands feeling clean and soft.

COMMENTS: I have purchased just about all of the melt and pour bases at one time or another. I love the way they perform on both ends, me making my "creations" and the high praise from customers about them. I have to say this is one of my favorite bases. It melts easily, has a wonderful consistency and the finished product has a "rich" look and feel to it. It accepts color and fragrance very well and the base's scent doesn't interfere with the essential oils at all. This sells on it's own with no scent or color also! And I love the way it feels on the skin. Even though I am into CP more now,it is more economical to buy the base since hemp oil is so costly. There is always at least a half a box around here!

COMMENTS: I like the detergent free option. The amber color is pretty all on its own but I mix it with a white Goat Milk base as well. "Great for "Manly" Soaps"

COMMENTS: I've been using this base a lot lately in my masculine-themed soaps. I have many male customers at the weekly farmers market where I sell my soaps, and they love the feel of the base as they shower with it. I've been combining it with essential oils and natural colorants, such as walnut shells, orange and lemon peel, ground olive leaf, for detergent-free, naturally scented/colored bars.

COMMENTS: After trying MP Hemp Oil bases from other companies I finally found one that I'm extremely happy with...YOURS! I've found most Hemp Oil soaps to be more than a little drying, but not this one. It takes color and scent perfectly and adding a touch of glycerin when using the powdered colors, it's even more moisturizing. Since Hemp is a stable in my line, I'll be buying only from WSP from now on. Thank you!

COMMENTS: I only make melt and pour soaps and I'm trying to "fancy" up my soaps. I swirl glycerin with a white base and they come out beautifully! I sell a lot of my soaps to spas (wholesale) and the customers love the different looks I can come up with. My line is more in line with natural products and I get a lot of customers who love hemp, so it's a big seller so far. I will use the hemp soap as my glycerin from now on. It holds essential oils and fragrance beautifully and I love how it works in the shower. It lathers great and leaves me feeling clean.

"Best melt and pour soap base ever! Smells so clean"

COMMENTS: This soap base melts easily. Not a strong scent, but very clean. My customers love the way it feels on their skin. Blends great with essential oils. Gives my soaps the earthy feeling I strive to achieve. I love the 2lb blocks, they make it easier to measure the amount needed for each mold. The color is beautiful but still transparent enough to see larger additives placed in the soap (flowers, oats, etc.)

"Good Soap / Catchy Idea"

COMMENTS: I like the way this soap smells and feels, and I use it in my patchouli soaps because it seems that people who like patchouli also like the idea of hemp. As an old hippie, I think I know why that is, but I won't go into it here. Just trust me when I say that there are MANY people who like the combination for ideological reasons.

"Great Hemp Oil Soap"

COMMENTS: This base has a bubbly lather like the coconut and honey bases but it is a bit more creamy than them. The bars have a nice, interesting color and smell slightly of glycerin. Great feel on the skin without feeling greasy or dry! I mix it with the honey base to create a hemp and honey soap for my customers without detergents, fragrances, or dyes. (no titanium dioxide in this base!)

COMMENTS: It is wonderful to be able to incorporate the incredible qualities of hemp with such ease. The soap base is detergent free low sweat, which I am not a huge fan of, but when combined with my regular WSP melt and pour base, it adds all of the properties of hemp while still retaining the qualities of glycerin soap. The recipes that incorporate hemp soap base, all come out looking and smelling great. It incorporates scent and color well, unmolds easily and makes a beautiful bar of soap with wonderful skin pampering ingredients.

"Superior base for melt and pour."

COMMENTS: I've tried quite a few clear glycerin bases but this is my favorite. It moisturizes very well without the addition of other oils or butters. I have even used it as a shampoo bar for myself, as commercial shampoos irritate my skin--it lathers nicely and cleans without stripping. If you need absolutely clear glycerin, be aware that this base has a very very slight yellowish cast; however it doesn't seem to interfere with colorants I add and the final products have no cloudy appearance. I will be ordering more of this lovely base! It's a superior product in all ways.

COMMENTS: I began using WSP's detergent free melt and pour soap bases, thinking they would be even better on my skin and better for those with allergies. The ingredients are exactly what I had been looking for in my soap bases. I cannot believe how wonderful the hemp soap is! I have been researching the benefits of hemp and medicinal THC products after seeing miraculous reductions in cancers and healing of many skin ailments (I have eczema personally). I love the feel and color and benefits of this soap base so much I bought enough to use it in all my soaps and products which use melt and pour soap bases. The only drawback whatsoever is that it is not clear,giving the soap and very light yellowish tinge - only a problem when I want perfectly transparent soap.
