Product Details

Emerald Green Mica Powder is a green cosmetic powder. Emerald gems are known as jewels of Kings, and this cosmetic mica has that same majestic color. It is mostly green with the slightest touch of blue with a shimmer that catches the eye.

The pictured lotus blossom is clear melt and pour soap colored at a rate of 1 tsp. per pound of soap. Color will appear pastel and less vibrant in opaque melt and pour soap bases.

"I thought chromium oxide was not safe for bath bombs but in a previous question it was answered that it had been used in bath bombs. Is this color and chromium oxide safe to use for bath bombs?"

"Emerald Green Mica- I see this has chromium oxide in it, but I'm seeing some reviews that say they use it in bath bombs? Does it not give if a smell from the oxide? Can you recommend any of your green colorants that I can use that won't? Yes I have all your lakes! I hate mixing colors! I need a light and a darker green ( as dark as this emerald or darker)."

COMMENTS: This is the most gorgeous green, shimmery color. It is a "soft" green but so lovely; a little goes a long way. I am a very big fan of mica powders to begin with. I love that they come from minerals out of the earth (even though it is my understanding that are not considered "natural" because they must be cleaned with clay). They work beautifully in melt & pour soap and the majority of them add a shimmery, glistening effect.

"more blue than expected"

COMMENTS: I don't know if it has been the recipes I've used this color in, but it hasn't turned out anything close to emerald in my soaps. The color is nice, but it has ended up being a teal (mostly blue with some green) rather than the green with a hint of blue in the product description. The color is still pretty, just not what I was expecting.
