Product Details

Mango Butter is extracted from the fruit kernels of the mango tree. Pure Mango Butter is thought to exhibit excellent moisturizing properties while countering the drying effects of bar soaps and cleansers! Use Mango Butter in homemade sugar scrubs, lotion bars, soap, cuticle cream and more!

Cold & Hot Process Soap. Lotion. Lip Balm. After Sun Skin Care. Facial Skin Care. Hair Conditioner. Hand & Body Care.

Points of Interest:
Seed produces a firm meat is rendered into a butter. Exhibits excellent moisturizing for lotions and good lubricity on skin. Readily at skin temperatures making it ideal for sticks and balms. Counters the drying effects of bar soaps and cleansers. All Natural. Expeller Pressed. Lubricant, emollient, moisturizing agent and plant derived product.

Directions:

DIRECTIONS: Slowly stir melted product into the oil portion of your formulation. Common use levels are lip products 5-100%, cold process soap 3-6%, lotions and creams 3-5%. Can be applied directly to the skin.

TIPS: The average melting point for the butter is 100°F. Butters provide moisturizing properties to products. To minimize greasy after feel we recommend blending with 1-3% cornstarch or isopropyl myristate. Test your final product to insure optimal performance.

STORAGE: Store in an airtight, cool, dark location. When stored properly, best used within 1 year from date of purchase.

Staff Answer Hi Deidra - You could try incorporating a base oil into your recipe to keep it a little softer. With the base oil, we also recommend adding Vitamin E to help the oil from going rancid. Please keep in mind that we have not tested this specific recipe, and recommend testing in small batches. See below for some helpful links.

Would the base oil be in addition to the 75% and 25% of the hard oils or would you replace some of the hard oils with some of the liquid oil?

"Mango Butter-Am I the only unsatisfied customer?"

COMMENTS: I have ordered several times from WSP and this is the first time I am completely unhappy with the quality of a product. And, just for the record, I love the No-Stir Palm Oil and order it in bulk size. I also LOVE their Ultra-Refined Shea Butter and will continue to purchase these items; but, when I recently received my order of Mango Butter it was a melted, mealy mess, which was slow to resolidify and still remains grainy, yellowed and not pleasant to smell.

COMMENTS: This was a great addition to my lotion bars. I didn't like the smell when I took it out of the packaging to use it. I couldn't smell it in the bars afterwards though. Overall great product. Also, packaging it in a plastic jar with a screw on top would be better in my opinion. My butter melted some and it was stuck in the resealable part of the bag so opening it got messy.

COMMENTS: I was under the impression (even though it says no scent) that it would be a hint of mango but no.It doesn't have any scent. That's good for any FOs you use in your products. It is a bit of a heavy butter. Even the Shea butter I use doesn't seem as heavy as the Mango. So I never have to use very much of it to have it felt throughout the product.

COMMENTS: A little softer in consistency than cocoa butter, this is an excellent butter to use alone or in conjunction with other butters for various skin-loving projects! Feels incredible, and melts beautifully into the skin for a smooth, moisturized feel! I really love how this butter smells! It's not a strong odor, but it definitely has a beautiful organic-sweetness to it, and there's no doubt it's mango! What I loved about this butter though, was that even though it does smell delightfully wholesome, it didn't compete or interfere with the FO I used when making solid lotion bars AT ALL (not that I would have minded though- I really enjoyed the scent regardless). I'd definitely purchase this butter again for future projects... In leave-on products, it feels AMAZING in application!

COMMENTS: I used this as an alternative to shea butter in some of my products because a few of my customers are allergic to shea. This mango butter is really soft and easy to measure. It blends well in all of my creations and provides a smooth creamy texture. The smell is very light and does not overpower any unscented lotions or body butters. I only wish that the 1lb option came in a bucket. Since this is so creamy, and I live in a warm humid climate, it can spread all over the bag as you are trying to get it out.

"Very soft and smooth"

COMMENTS: I love mango butter, it's a little temperamental, and have found to not heat it up to hot or it will go grainy on you. But it's one of my favorite butters to work with. The feel of this is so creamy and smooth by itself, i think it adds a great feel to my products.
