Build a unique soap design with Crafter's Choice® Oval Column Mold. Combine the oval column soap made from this mold with other shapes to create your own unique design. Embed the oval column in a Regular Loaf Mold or Loaf Column Mold. When the loaf is cut, you will see the oval design in each bar of soap!
Common Uses:
Melt & Pour Soap. Cold Process Soap.
Points of Interest:
This soap column mold makes one oval soap column that can then be embedded into a larger loaf. The silicone construction allows for easy soap removal. One side of the mold is hinged and three sides have edges that seal closed. This mold does not stand well on its own. We recommend leaning it against an upright mitre box or a sturdy object before filling with soap. See “Directions” for more information on how to use this mold.

Directions: Melt & Pour Soap: Close the mold by firmly pressing the edges together. For added safety, clamp the edges. Slowly pour melted soap no hotter than 130ºF into mold. Allow soap to harden then open mold and remove soap. Trim edges with a potato peeler or spatula. Embed soap into a loaf or slice into bars. To minimize bowing, fill in three pours.
Cold Process Soap: Close the mold by firmly pressing the edges together, and clamp the edges. Slowly pour traced soap into mold. After at least 24 hours, open mold and remove soap with gloved hands. Trim edges with a potato peeler or spatula. Embed soap into a loaf or slice into bars. Allow soap to cure for 4-8 weeks. Note that some cp soap recipes may require a week to harden enough to remove from the mold. If this is the case with your recipe, we recommend adding sodium lactate to your recipe to assist with creating a harder bar faster.
