Milky Way Soap Molds can tolerate temperatures of 135-145 degrees F. Above these temperatures, warping may occur. Soap is easiest to release 12-24 hours after cooling.

Wash molds in warm, sudsy water. Please avoid the dishwasher because that can warp your molds or make them brittle.

Directions:
Melt & Pour Soap: Pour melted soap at a temperature no hotter than 135ºF into mold. Cool until soap has hardened. Remove soap from mold, and slice into bars. For easier unmolding, place into freezer for 30 minutes, and then immerse bottom of the mold in hot water for a few moments. Do not use cooking spray to coat mold.

Cold Process Soap: Coat the mold with cooking spray. Pour soap at trace into mold. After 24 hours, flip mold over onto a clean surface. Gently push the back of the mold until the soap begins to release then pull the soap out of the mold with a gloved hand. Slice into bars. Allow soap to cure for 4-8 weeks. Note that some cp soap recipes may require a week to harden enough to remove from the mold. If this is the case with your recipe, we recommend adding sodium lactate to your recipe to assist with creating a harder bar faster.

Lotion Bars: Pour melted lotion bar mixture into mold at a temperature no hotter than 135ºF. Allow mixture to solidify. Flip mold over onto clean surface. Gently push back of mold until lotion bar begins to release then pull bar out of mold. Slice into lotion bars.

Care:
Wash in warm, sudsy water. Please avoid the dishwasher because that can warp your molds or make them brittle.

"I have this mold but haven't used it because I don't want to line it with plastic wrap for CP soap. My fault for not reading the description thoroughly. What kind of cooking spray should be used on it for CP soap making? Just regular PAM or something else? If anyone has used this with cooking spray, how easy was it to get the CP soap out of the mold and did the spray affect the appearance of the soap? Thanks."

Staff Answer The plastic molds can be sprayed with any type of vegetable cooking spray or you can rub any carrier oil onto the bottom of the mold to help with the release.

I have used olive oil in my plastic trays and it seems to work fine.

Smearing baby oil/mineral oil on the mold works well to and does not affect the appearance of the soap. If unmolded bar is seems oily, simply blot with paper toweling. Hope this helps.

I find that it works better if you don't fill the mold all the way to the top of where the bar would be. It makes it much easier to release.

"Great mold! Lots of bars at once!"

COMMENTS: This mold was our choice for our free Milky Way mold. I am SO happy with it. As with all plastic molds, It's a tiny bit of work to get the soap out, but once you release that suction, it comes out easily. We used this for our facial bars and the square was the perfect size. I was worried that it would cut unevenly, but the mold makes it super easy to cut clean bars.

"Great for large batches"

COMMENTS: This is a great mold for anyone who needs to make a large batch of M&P soaps at once! The bars are pretty uniform, except I noticed that the outside edges are slightly beveled, so some of the bars don't come out as perfect as I'd like.

COMMENTS: I can't believe I am the 1st to rate this....surely someone else has purchased this mold. It makes 18 perfect large square bars. Unmolds super easy. Cleans super easy. Doesn't retain scents from previous batches. The 18 bars is really nice for inventory stocking (shows, markets, etc). I just ordered 2 more !!!
