Directions:
DIRECTIONS: Pinch off amount required for your formulation. Average usage is a cotton ball size pinch for a 5lb batch of cold process soap. Dissolving Tussah Silk in your Lye water can be tricky. You can pull apart into small strands or chop finely to help dissolve. Add strands directly into your lye solution. Soaking the silk in water before adding this to your lye solution may further help it dissolve completely.

"Love the effects in soap!"
COMMENTS: I love the silky lather that this tussah silk adds to my soap. One thing that I would like to note- which completely slipped my mind when ordering- is that this product is not vegan, so if you are trying to have a vegan bath and body line I would avoid tussah silk altogether. Overall though, if you aren't trying to make vegan products this is a game-changer!

COMMENTS: I am in awe of how much silkier my soaps are with Tussah silk. I just recently found it and cant believe I made soaps for so long without it. It only takes a pinch to change the way your customers will feel about your soaps.

"Silk"
COMMENTS: I cut the silk in tiny pieces with scissors before adding to distilled water. Stir well and let sit overnight. Add lye the next day and stir well again. Strain lye water with a sieve when adding to oils. Has improved quality of my soap.

"Tussah Silk"
COMMENTS: I love how this silk dissolves quickly in my lye solution. The texture was different from the tussah silk I used prior to ordering this product, but I enjoy the functionality of this silk 10 to 1.
