Product Details

Versagel is a clear, odorless base that is most commonly used for handmade lip gloss. This base is gluten-free, and has a thick, sticky formulation that looks and applies similar to popular retail lip gloss. Versagel can be used as-is on the lips, or enhanced with color and flavor. Versagel can also be used in hair gel, lotion and other body cosmetics.

Common Name Ingredient Listing (FDA Approved):
Hydrogenated Polyisobutene (and) Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer (and) Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer.

Directions:
Add desired flavors or colorants and mix well. If adding additional oils, heat separately to 160°F then combine. Apply to lips as desired.

"On July 21, 2020 a woman asked if this product needed to be heated and a STAFF member answered: "If you are adding other oils it needs to be heated." Then on November 13, 2020 a woman asked if this product needed to be heated when adding coconut oil and a STAFF member said NO? Please confirm if the answer is yes or no when adding other oils to this product. You might want to go back and change the incorrect STAFF answer so people don't get the wrong information and ruin their batches."

"I am not having any luck getting color to stay mixed! It looks great when making it, then after sitting for several hours, all the color has gone to the bottom! I have ruined 2 batches now, tried your powder micas first, and then bought the EZ color thinking this would solve it, and it still did the same thing?! Help please! "Absolutely terrible to work with!"

COMMENTS: I was so excited to try this gel to make lip gloss but it was absolutely terrible to work with! It took almost 15 minutes to get the gel to 151 degrees but I just could not get it to 160 degrees no matter what I did. It was extremely sticky and did not liquify at all. I put 15 drops of lip safe color in it anyway to see how it would look and it was pretty in the beaker but when I tried some, no color transfered to my lips. It was just clear gloss. Because it was so thick, I couldn't get it in the gloss tubes at all. Trying to clean up afterwards was an ordeal. Whatever this stuff is made of, it took several minutes of washing with Dawn PowerWash to get the gel off of my utensils. I threw the rest of the Versagel away. I will not purchase this again.

"Amazing first try"

COMMENTS: This gloss base is a lot better than I thought. I felt like it wouldn't mix well with oils but it was absolutely perfect. I'll definitely gonna buy more. (Oils: Coconut, castor, and sunflower)

COMMENTS: I love this Versagel Lip Gloss vase. Honest, I’m never making lip gloss from scratch again. This has a great price point as well. Received my package yesterday and it’s super thick. I tried some straight out of the jar. Not sticky or greasy. Goes on smooth and is long lasting. Will be buying more. COMMENTS: I tried this on a whim, oh my gosh, Love It! I followed the key lime pie recipe, turned out great! I had little lip gloss tubes and they look adorable! I went on to make cupcake, watermelon, peach, and huckleberry. Everybody loves them!

"Glosses that Floss"

COMMENTS: I have purchased versagel for my lip glosses. The primary use I have found is for lip glosses and or lipsticks. This is a good product for moisturizing the lips, but it can be tricky to work with as I suggest be sure of the amounts of oils and flavor oils used in your products as well as the colorants as separation of products can occur and it makes for not so pretty displays in the tubes.
