Black Iron Oxide Our Black Iron Oxide is a pure iron oxide, and considered a matte pigment. Matte pigments can be used by themselves or be added to tone other colors. Natural colors have been filtered of harmful impurities. These are mostly used for tinting blushes, eye liners, eye shadows, lip colors, foundations, etc. You can consider these colorants essential in all of you make-up formulations. All of our colorants and  iron oxides work well alone, or blended with other pigments and dyes to create amazing colors and shades. Concentrations to be used vary on the formulation you are trying to make. For example, liquid soap will require less colorant whereas compact powders will require more. All Iron Oxides are pigments that are widely used in all kinds of applications from technical uses to specialty formulations to make cosmetics and personal care. Whether you are making face powders, foundations, blushes, eyeshadows, salt or sugar scrubs, you will always find iron oxides perfect for tinting and coloring. Iron oxides, like our yellow iron oxide are perfect for making soaps and make gorgeous swirl soaps too.Black Iron Oxide is particularly useful, similar to titaniun dioxide, as it is so helpful in creating specialty shades and tints. It is dispersible in water and oil. Care must be taken to mix using high shearing force to get it to blend. (Use a stick blender for best results.)For dry applications, simply mix with your favorite base clay or powder or other dry medium.Typical Usage: Just a 1/2 oz will tint / color about 20 lbs of a product depending on the tint / intensity of the color you want. It is advisable to add a very small amount at a time until you get your desired result.Colors can be mixed together to create new colors.Oxides are stable under typical pH ranges. Italian Green Clay PowderOur Green Italian Clay is a high quality, formulary grade clay used in soaps, masks, facial cleansers, and much more.The natural green color is from the natural different iron oxides and natural pigments in the soils where the clay is mined.Origin: ItalyOur all natural Green Clay Powder has excellent absorption properties. Italian Clays are added to a variety of products for color, and for reportedly drawing out impurities and toxins from the skin, as they also tone and firm.Formulation Suggestions: (Test first and always seek medical advice) Use Italian Clay Powders with a little water to make the ideal facial mask for all skin types, especially sensitive.Reported to be used to detoxify and exfoliate skin on face and body. The clay is reported to rejuvenate dry, damaged, and aging skin by stimulating deep pore cleaning, exfoliating. Spa facial mask - Mix 1/4-cup of Italian Clay powder with 1/4-cup water. After the clay and water have been well blended, 2 tbsp of honey and 1/4-cup of mashed banana or avocado are added to the mixture. The mask is applied to the face, allowed to remain for 10 min, and rinsed off with warm water. Deodorizing foot treatment: A half-cup of powdered Italian green clay is mixed with 1/2-cup of water and 2â€"3 drops of tea tree essential oil. The mixture is applied to the feet, covered loosely with plastic wrap, and rinsed off after 15 min with cool water. The feet may then be rubbed with a moisturizing cream. Mineral bath: Measure out a half-cup of powdered Italian green clay can be added to a tub of warm water to soothe sunburned or irritated skin, or relieve arthritis or muscle pains.
