Too soft for a lip balm base

"I purchased this as I wanted to save some time making lip balms in tubes. I have ordered lip balm bases from several suppliers and they were always suitable for lip balms. This one however, is way too soft for lip balms that are poured into tubes. It does not give a hard balm, and with warmer temperatures these will melt. The ingredients seem fine and I have nothing against them, but the amount of beeswax is way too low for this to be a lip balm."

Awful!! Bad batch?

"This stuff is absolutely awful! Not sure if I just got a bad/improperly made batch or what, but it was so hard and stiff that it wouldn't even apply. It was like rubbing a candle stick on your lips. It was definitely not the creamy and awesome product I read about in the raving reviews. I added nothing to this base, have been making balms for years, and have never received a product like this. It was totally unusable. WSP refunded me thankfully, but I wasted many lip balm tubes on unusable balm base. I was hoping it'd be awesome since it is the only base on WSP's that doesn't contain soy. Myself and some customers are allergic."

Greasy

"I was hoping this would be a harder lip balm. It's a little too great and soft. If there's something I can add to make it less great and a little harder I'll try again"

I love this lip base! It'. . .

"I love this lip base! It's so smooth and creamy without that waxy feel. Its good plain or with the flavor oils. I personally don't use sweetener and I don't miss it. This makes the process of making lip balm so much quicker. I will definitely be buying more of this stuff. Advantages: Easy Saves timeGreat glide Not waxy Disadvantages: None"

Q&A

Can you into the number oz of oils and butter you used in a 1-pound base. Thanks!Coconut oil oz?Avocado oil oz?Jojoba oz?Beeswax oz?Castor oil oz?
I apologize, but I'm unable to disclose that information as the formula is proprietary.
Can this product be used on the body?
This is made specifically for lips, you can try and see if it will work for your customers on the body. That would be a personal preference for you and your customers based on the oils and "shine."
Can lip balm base be used as a healing balm when the right oils and herbs are add. Example: Tattoo balm
We have not tested it as a healing balm.
How much herb infused oil can I add to 1lb base.
We have not added extra oil to this base. You would need to test small amounts.
Can sugar be added to this base to make a lip scrub? If so, at what ratio? Can additional oil(s) be added to make a creamier lip scrub? Again, at what ratio? I'd like to make 5 oz. batches at one time.
We have not tried making a lip scrub with this, but this is certainly something that you could test. You would probably need to experiment a bit to find the right consistency for your purposes.
