Details

For melt and pour soap, pour at no hotter than 135°F, cool until hardened, then unmold—freezing briefly and dipping the mold bottom in warm water if needed. For cold process soap, lightly coat the mold with cooking spray, pour at trace, unmold after 24 hours, and cure 4–8 weeks; add sodium lactate if your recipe stays soft. For lotion bars, pour melted mixture (no hotter than 135°F), allow to solidify, then press the back of the mold to release. Wash molds in warm, soapy water and avoid dishwashers to prevent warping.

This mold is awful!

"I am so very disappointed with this mold I can't even!! First off - it is super cute, perfect size and I would LOVE the design'IF ONLY I would be able to get my soap out of it. I made a hybrid 25% stearic acid shaving soap and the dang thing will not leave the mold. I have waited (over a week), frozen them, used a heat-gun and even (accidentally) dropped one on the floor. The mold cracked but the soap will not budge. I am so disappointed ??"

"These molds make perfect 2 1/2 oz shave soaps every time. One of the recipes for shave soaps suggest they hold 3 oz each, keep this in mind when you are making your batches. The molds release well (I spray them liberally with rubbing alcohol before I pour in my soap) and the words are perfectly legible on the finished bars."

Does this mold make only one bar? Is it made of silicone or clear plastic? Thank you: Yes this mold only makes one bar and is made out of PVC plastic.
I like the look of this mold, but I wonder how well it would work for a hot process shaving soap. The reviews seem to be from people using MP soap. Hot process makes a good shaving lather, but it doesn't make a very pretty bar. I'm looking for ways to improve the appearance of the bars, if you have another suggestion.: You could use this mold for HP soap but would need to work quickly to fill the cavities since HP soap is not as fluid as CP. The mold might need to be put in freezer if soap does not easily pop out.
