Perfect Hunters Scent

"Purchased this at the request of a hunter. Apparently, Anise is amazing for masking the human pheromones, which makes it perfect for hunting. We whipped up some Anise soap bars for this customer."

Holy acceleration!!

"This smells really wonderful, and holds up very well in cold process. However, I used it as only about 16% of a blend in a soap that I have been making for years and years, and it accelerated like crazy. It set up to near concrete and heated up, super fast. If you use it for cold process, do a small batch, soap, cool, and hand stir."

Makes the PERFECT Anise soap

"Everyone LOVES Anise, at least that is what I have found to be true :) This EO works so well with Orange, Cedar. . . anything that is warm, citrus or spicy. I top my Orange Anise Soaps with real Star Anise and some glitter for a gorgeous bar that begs to go home and straight to the bath! This is really a fabulous must have EO, and the price is great. Thanks!"

My new favorite!

"I love love how this smells!! I was a little concerned it would be too much of a licorice smell but it's not. It's a great scent that blends well with lavender as well as lime. As always great packaging so it got to me without any issues. Will definitely purchase again!"

Anise EO 720

"A true Anise that sticks well in my MP soap and does not discolor at all even in white. A winner."

Catherine (5/5)

Good quality

"I made my husband fishing soap with this oil. No catfish, but it smells so good, I used it in laundry soap. I was expecting a seize, but had no problems at all. Nice blended with cinnamon and/or orange for room spray."

The guys in my family like this one

"The boys like this one. It smells like black licorice. Is very strong."

Q&A

Is the safe usage rate of .10% for cold process soap correct? i am new to soap making and have noticed that most usage rates seem to be between 3-5%. Why is this EO have such an incredibly low usage rate?
Yes, up to 0.10% is correct. Although they are natural, many EOs, including this one, are very strong and can burn/damage the skin the skin if they aren't used in a small, safe amount.
Hello is this Aniseed or Anise Star oil?
This essential oil is Anise Star oil.
Can you use the Anise EO in soy candles?
This essential oil can be used in soy candles. Using essential oils in candles can be tricky. You do need to test to know the proper amount to safely use. Also, they need to be added at a very low temperature so the fragrance does not burn off.
Can you use this in toothpaste or lip balms?
The IFRA guidelines state this essential oil is safe at 0.10% in lip products. Our essential oils are not meant to be ingested and should not be used in toothpaste or other food products.
In order to determine amount of fragrance/ essential oil to use, I have seen two ways to determine amount explained on website.#1base maxifra maxcontainer max, containers I checked didn't have % listed?#2base maxifra maxsmell %, how do you determine this? I see nothing included in documents that identifies %?Which of the above two should be used for calculating the amount of FO/EO for a recipe?Where do I find needed information?
To determine the amount of fragrance to use, you must first check the IFRA guidelines for the product you are making. Anise EO is only approved up to 0.10% in soap. So that is the maximum amount you can add. If it were approved for a higher percent, you would then check the product you are making, say soap. Our MP soap bases have a recommended fragrance load of 3% and a CP soap would have 6%. No matter what the numbers, you would always go with the lower amount.
