Great for infusing!

"I infuse this in some olive oil for an orange color and it works great! Used at about 15% of my oils, the color comes out a nice mute orange - not light but not to bright either."

Great Saturation. Beautiful Color!

"Some folks just love to know they are using products that are 100% all natural. This product allows me to offer that option with intense coloring as well. This is a bright color, doesn't bleed in your products or affect your recipe. A Great Item from WSP!"

ooh orange!

"This produces a wonderful bright orange. Can leave specks if you don't strain the oil in which it was infused, or if you add it directly to CP soap batter. WSP prices cannot be beat when it comes to natural colorants!"

Q&A

If I am making a 2 lb batch of cold process soap, how much annatto seed powder should I infuse in oil ahead of time, and which oil do you suggest infusing it in? I am looking for a nice bright orange color for fall soaps. Thank you!
Using around 1 teaspoon per pound of oils in your formula should give you lighter yellow while using 4 teaspoons should give you a dark orange. The most common oils for steeping are Sweet Almond Oil, Olive Oil, or Avocado Oil.
Is there a risk of this staining skin if used as a colorant in soap?
Natural colorants are used in soap regularly, without staining the skin. Do not over color your soap - If a regular amount is used, your suds are still white when washing. If they are the color of the colorant used, you have used too much.
I tried to find this information, but what is the recommended usage rate in melt and pour soap? Would this be safe to use in the foaming bath whip base?
We do not give a recommended usage rate as it depends on the color you would like to achieve. I would start with a small amount and continue adding until you reach the desired color. This could also be used in Foaming Bath Whip either by adding the powder or by adding oil infused with the powder.
Is this powder safe if ingested?
Our products are used for cosmetics, they are not recommended for consumption/food. Our products are packed in a facility that is not FDA approved so there is the possibility of cross contamination with other cosmetic products.
Can this be used in a facial mask?
In the product description it states They are loaded with Vitamins C, B's, and E. They contain wonderful amounts of antioxidants which are thought to help protect the skin from environmental free radical damage. So I don't see why you couldn't use this in a face mask.
