Product Details

Beet Root is a dark red vegetable that gained popularity for use in skincare during the Roman times. It is high in potassium, magnesium, iron, folic acid, Vitamins A, B6 and C. Beet Root is high in antioxidants. Beet Root powder produces a light pink to red color.

COMMENTS: This was my first try at soap making and chose the beet root powder thinking it would be a nice natural way to add color. At first I thought I had succeeded, on mixing and pouring it made my soap a nice mauve color, I was really happy with. The next morning my soap was a light brown, and the next still faded to a light tan.

COMMENTS: When I needed a matte pink/red coloring, this came in quite handy! Yes, it does have an earthy beet smell to it, but that smell disappeared as soon as it was added to my scrubs. It gave a nice dark pink color to my scrubs, and mixed in quite easily into them. The color didn't run into my white vanilla layers, so overall I give it a thumbs up!

"Great natural cooor"

COMMENTS: I chose this to color mp soaps because it's natural and a pretty color. I am very happy with the color, it's a light purple/pink. It is clumpy so you have to deal with that and like any powder, once mixed with liquid it turns into more clumps. If you mix it with a drop of water it can help a little, but in what I do it's good to avoid water. Also, the beet (dirt) smell covers by fragrance perfectly. You can't smell it. I will continue to use this. It's great!

COMMENTS: I used Beet Root Powder to color salt scrubs and creams. It worked beautifully! I tried it with MP Soap and it worked well. You need more in MP than in scrubs and creams. I then tried it in CP soap and it turned green :( Anyone out there know what I did wrong?

"Beautiful Color and Texture"

COMMENTS: I purchased this product to use in a Rose Bath Tea I was creating. It has reputed health and skin improvement properties and thought it would be the perfect way to both color and increase the quality of the teas. Being new to this type of venture, I wasn't sure if it would stain so I only added enough to tint the salts a very light color and it turned out beautifully. There is a very slight odor in the bag; but was not an issue in the mixture. I'm venturing into other bath/body areas so I know I'll find other ways to use this product - and I'll definitely be checking back to read more reviews / recipes where others here at WSP have used it. Thank you all for your comments and to WSP for yet another affordable, quality product. Oh, and I LOVE the FREE SHIPPING!

COMMENTS: I use this in CP soap. It is a bit grainy, but you can mix with boiling water and strain it before mixing in your lye, if you want a smoother texture.

"Absolutely love this product"

COMMENTS: This product provides excellent all natural color to lip balm. You only have to use maybe 1/2 a tsp. to get a brilliant shade of pink in your product. It dissolves easily in heated mixtures, so there are no clumps. This product is well worth the low price and will last for a very long time.

"Keep the beet!"

COMMENTS: I do like this ingredient - it is nutritional and adds a touch (or more) of colour. If you are looking to infuse the colour in oils - not so much. Having said that I do add into water-based facial sprays at .5% and it does keep its colour much better. You could just add a drop of a different red (natural or not) and you are good to go with colour with the benefits of beet root. I also like it in lotions and creams where it also has more staying power!

COMMENTS: I love using beets to color easter eggs, so using beet root powder to naturally color my body products just tickles me pink! This beet root powder has also a light exfoilant effect which has been a great addition to my sugar scrubs - pink color and added scrubbiness.

COMMENTS: Works just as I expected. I infused it in olive oil & it produced a pale pink; next batch I used infused oil plus extra powder in the soap for a more saturated pink. It's still pretty pale but produces a nice color.
