COMMENTS: This does help scents to stick better in my cp and hp soaps. It works as a fixative but it is very grainy even though I sift it really well, and it makes my soap look and feel gritty. I really would love to see it ground to a much finer powder. I gave it 4 stars because it does work as a fixative.

"Great as a fixitive"
COMMENTS: I didn't read the reviews before using, it made my soap very gritty. Now that I have a better idea how to use it, I will definitely try it again. It worked great as a fixative, I used it with a fragrance that is known to fade. Weeks later, the fragrance is still quite strong!
COMMENTS: screen/sift this first - I like mine to be super soft and very powdery
worked well in every product once I sifted it
it does help hold the fragrance in the soap
I know others who do not sift it first and still get beautiful soap (I'm just picky)
tiny bit is all that is required
follow given instructions and it is easy to use
has really helped me - my soaps are exposed to outdoors at markets/shows and the FOs standout when this is used.

"Easy to work with"
COMMENTS: I add this to a perfume spray I make so that it fixes the fragrance more. I filter my mix before bottling it because the powder does not completely dissolve for me. I love having this option versus something with harsh chemicals or artificial ingredients. Great value and does the job.

"Helps Anchor Scent"
COMMENTS: I've only used this with essential oils since they tend to disappear. It's a brown color and will discolor your soap. I mixed 1/4 tsp of it with essential oils and let it rest while I worked on my soap. Most of it blended but some of it settled. I added it at trace and hoped the settled powder would disappear but it didn't. I ended up with speckles here and there (kind of like pepper). It's not noticeable if you're working with a dark base. After unmolding the soap I noticed the essential oils smelled much stronger than before. It's been curing for a week and the scent is still very strong. I am pleased!

"Benzoin Powder is a Great Fragrance Fixative"
COMMENTS: Benzoin powder works wonderfully as a Fragrance Fixative. It is easy to use as a powder, just mix with a little warmed shea butter or other oil and add at light trace. Scents really stick and hold scents longer.
For Bath Fizzers it also helps them dry faster.

"Anchoring"
COMMENTS: Like others - I use this to anchor perfumes. I make a tincture of alcohol and benzoin... works like a charm. Orris root is the other. It is a great way to dilute FO's and EO's - but it should be aged and it is a great base note. I asked a question about how to use it in oils as I didn't think about it for that!

"Fragrance Fixative"
COMMENTS: I ordered this powder to infuse into a carrier oil and subsequently use that infused oil to help 'fix' EOs and FOs scents into finished products. The first thing I did when I received the order containing this product was to get the powder into a 'mason jar' with a good carrier oil over it. I sat the jar next to my oil burner for the warmth to speed infusion. I warm bathed the mason jar a couple times also. All that was worth it - the FO and EO scents are staying strong in my lotions, room sprays, CP/CPOP soaps although the soaps have been curing for two weeks. Smells balsamy and woody to me and was a nice addition to my ingredients basedon how I use it. Thanks WSP for a reasonably priced product.
COMMENTS: WSP's benzoin powder definitely aids in fading fragrance oils in cold process soaps. If you are looking for an alternative to help with fading fragrances this stuff is it!!!
