"Hi! I want to make cp soap using you Blueberry fragrance oil. I see that it will discolor to a light/medium brown. I would like to achieve a blueberry color. Could you recommend which color of mica to use with this FO? I read the reviews where using purple and/or blue resulted in green. Or would I be better off using vanilla color stabilizer? "I'm trying to make blueberry bath bombs. The oil itself is so yellow, I'm having a hard time making a blueberry- colored bomb! Any suggestions?"

Staff Answer Hi Bonnie, Have you thought about trying a clear oil instead of the yellow one? I'm not sure on your exact recipe, but we carry clear jojoba oil and clear fractionated coconut oil. Perhaps those could work instead. As for the blue, we like Bath Bomb Blue Powder Color for bath bombs. I hope this can help you!

Thank you for responding to my question. What I meant is that the Blueberry FO itself is very yellow, not the carrier oil. It's difficult to make a "blueberry" color. Thanks.

Staff Answer Oh ok, that is a very good question! This particular fragrance is on the dark side. I'm not sure how you can make that blueberry color in a bath bomb with this FO. We do sell a couple other blueberry fragrances that are nearly clear. These might work better, but they do smell different. They are Fresh Picked Blueberry 309 and Blueberry Lemon Verbena 370.

	"turned green, no scent at all "
COMMENTS: I made a batch of cold process soap and was a bit surprised when I poured this as it was almost orange out of the bottle. I could not smell much of any scent but I have made soap for 11 years so I know it doesn't always have a strong or pleasant scent out of bottle. . Added my bit of blue coloring and stirred...it turned green. I let it sit over night and it was bright green the next day....so I melted it down and added more blue...it was dark green then....and I noticed no scent except some strange chemical scent....so back in the pot yet again and I added a bit more of this scent and some mulberry.....at this point I was just trying to salvage my expensive ingredients. Nope...it went in the trash. In all fairness I did recieve a credit to my account ....but will certainly think hard about trying new scents. Honestly I think some kind of chemical reaction happened to the fragrance oil before I got it. It did not look normal at all.

COMMENTS: This FO is so easy to work with and has really good staying power. To me it smalls like blueberry cheese cake. Very very good small! No ricing, no acceleration, behaved wonderfully and I did a three color swirl.Plenty of time to work. Colors were darkened quite a bit, but I still love this FO and will purchase more.

"Very blueberry"

COMMENTS: Used this fragrance in a batch of cold process soap. Performed as expected, no ricing, no seizing. It wasn't a popular choice for a soap fragrance but in the end one customer ended up buying the everything we had left in stock and now orders a whole batch of this blueberry for himself. It smells delicious and perfectly blueberry, but almost more ofa kitchen smell than a shower or bath smell. Makes me hungry!

COMMENTS: This fragrance was amazing in both my cp and HP soap. I have used it on its own, and have mixed it with Lemon as well as vanilla. It has smelled delicious each time! It didn’t accelerate my recipe very much at all. I’m not sure if it discoloration, though because I color my soap before adding fragrance due to the heat and fear of acceleration.

"Blueberry Fragrance"

COMMENTS: I was very happy with how this fragrance did in the CP soap. No ricing, not acceleration and the discoloration when you plan for it isn't a problem at all. It is a very sweet fragrance and not sure it actually smells like blueberries but it's very nice.

"A weird funky bottom note"

COMMENTS: The first time I tried this FO it was in Hot Process. My business partner and I thought that the lady sharing commercial kitchen space with us that day had a funky odor. It wasn't until we got home that we realized it was our FO and the entire batch of soap smelled awful like body funk. We cured it out for 5 months and it improved some, but not completely. We had purchased 8 oz of it, so we tried it in MP in case it was a reaction of the HP soap, and it was the same results. We tried it in foaming bath whip, bath bombs, CP soap and it always has that first hit of blueberry and the after hit of funk. Some customers cannot smell it, but more than half can. We mixed it with a few other FO's to try various combos, and it works ok with some of the cotton candy FO's as a blend, but overall it's a big no. It also discolors a reddish color in everything, even with the vanilla stabilizer.

"It turned my soap brown"

COMMENTS: I'd hoped to make a beautiful blue and white soap but my soap is turning brown. Even my TD couldn't stand up to this FO. I couldn't have been more disappointed. It smells great! COMMENTS: The scent is great and holds up well in MP & HP, but the oil itself is a kind of a medium honey color and it colored my white HP soap almost right away(meaning it didn't turn b/c of vanilla content--I did use a stabilizer too)to like an off white/ tan.

"Didn’t like"

COMMENTS: I’m sorry I really wanted to like this fragrance and was looking forward to using it, but smelling it out of the bottle it smells like maybe a vinegar. I thought maybe when I used it in soap it didn’t change and it still smelled terrible. I thought maybe it was just me, but my husband said the same thing. COMMENTS: I love this scent. I used it in my sugar scrub. I cannot say if it will discolor or not, since my scrub color was also a dark blue. It isn't a fresh picked blueberry scent, but it isn't quite a blueberry muffin scent either. It is pleasant. I would purchase again.

Once the soap was unmolded it reminded me of blueberry muffins my Grandmother would make when I was a child. COMMENTS: I get a lot of compliments with the blueberry scent in my cold process soaps. It smells quite good, but it does smell like blueberry muffins. The only thing I dislike about this scent is that it discolors any white or uncolored soap to a brownish color due to the vanilla content. Other then this discoloring, it's a nice scent. "Great Blueberry Scent"

COMMENTS: This is a nice blueberry scent. It is on the sweeter side, but smells lovely with the addition of blueberry seeds in cold processed soap. I thought it would be too strong, but eased up a bit after several weeks. I used a recipe that calls for cocoa butter, and the chocolate scent mixed with the blueberry is delicious. Cooperative fragrance oil.

COMMENTS: I LOVE this Blueberry FO! I've tried a few others, like the Blueberry Muffin which I didn't like because it turned my beautiful blue soaps and ugly gray blue from the high vanilla content. This one, having such a low vanilla content, the color stays just as it looks when you color your soap. This smells great by itself, a real blueberry scent, not the sweet candy like blueberry. It also smells AMAZING mixed with other fragrances!!

COMMENTS: I like this, but you may need to experiment with the amount of oil. If you use too much, it has a strange smokey smell. It's almost like an undertone of cigarette smoke. It's a great savings on other blueberry scents as you use lots less for the same effect.

I love that fragrance for sure but I do "sniff" a background of Play-Do... Used it as embed on a almond milk fragrance soap and both together make it a really great combination.

"Blueberry fragrance "

COMMENTS: Smells exactly like blueberries. A little goes a long way with this fragrance as it is very strong. Only problem I had was that the color of the actual fragrance oil was so yellow it made it super hard to make my candles and soaps blue, they all turned green! I know that is something that probably can't be changed, but I still very happy with the fragrance oil.

"Wonderful Scent"

COMMENTS: I use this fragrance in wax melts and cold process soap. It discolors the soap a dark beige, but smells heavenly! The wax melts sell out very quickly. One of my customers made blueberry pancakes for dinner after smelling it :).
