Cold Process Soap Test Results:

We test fragrances with the recipe of 50% olive oil, 20% sunflower oil,
15% coconut 76, 10% shea butter, 5% castor. No water discount.

COMMENTS: This scent is a big hit with my customers. I make cold process soaps and run out quite often. I have customers inquire often when it will be back. It is a stronger scent so you can use less than you think.

"Its "OK" "

COMMENTS: I am not sure I really get any "bourbon" in this one. For me its too heavy on the floral note. The florals really overpower any tobacco or bourbon so for me its one of those scents that is OK but not a repeat buy for me. That being said it held up well in cold process and I had no trouble soaping it.

COMMENTS: I have been hanging on to this FO for a while now and finally used it in a fall soap. It reminded me of what I image Edgar Allen Poe's study might smell like. The scent mellows out just a touch and smells amazing! I loved it OOB but after saponification more of the rose notes come through. Could easily be a unisex scent IMO. No issues in my soap. This will be a buy again FO.

"Very disappointing "

COMMENTS: I usually love booze or tobacco scents but this scent gets entirely ruined by the rose petal notes, instead of smelling anything like bourbon or tobacco it smells strongly of spiced rose petals which honestly smells like granny perfume. Not a masculine scent at all, which is not what I expected. Definitely won't be buying this again and hopefully I can destash this bottle I'm stuck with.

"nice fragrance"

COMMENTS: I love all scents tobacco and this one is no exception. The scent is very very nice. I'm not the best at describing so I won't attempt to but, it is a scent I believe both men and women will love. I did experience some acceleration but soaped this batch in the dead of summer so that could very well have been the culprit. I was still able to get in a 2-color ITPS and get into the mold without difficulty. I used this FO at a 4.5% usage rate and at 4 weeks into cure the scent is definitely present but has mellowed; next time I will increase the usage rate to 5% and maybe soak it in kaolin clay. I did not experience any ricing or discoloration despite expecting my batter to turn a light tan. Overall I would definitely repurchase this fragrance.

COMMENTS: Fantastic fragrance! I added a small amount of Jasmine and Honeysuckle. . No problems with acceleration, ricing or seizing. Made a recipe using milk for the fluid. No problem with overheating. Soaped at 100 degrees. Customers love it! Will always keep this in stock.

"Masculine, smoky scent- behaves well"

COMMENTS: My mom and I both loved this scent straight out of the bottle. In soap, the smell was great and really strong! I only fragranced at 3% but it's had my soap room, curing area, and the dishes smelling very strong. This was my first "masculine" scent and all of the guys I've had smell it really like it! "Bourban Man"

COMMENTS: Wanted to make a line called 'Bourbon Man'...and I did. Unfortunately, I am undecided if I will keep it around for soaping though. I made a batch in Hot and Cold process and MP. The Hot and Cold process immediately seized as soon as I added the oil in so I will wait to see how they turn out. It's great in Melt and Pour and great in body butter though!

"Wait for it! The Bourbon is Real!"

COMMENTS: First of all, like any FO, you can't judge OOB. When I put this in a wax melt and let it burn for awhile, I could really smell the bourbon. As in actual bourbon, not a bourbon-esque scent. That's not always the scent you want in your home, but it's realistic, and a great mixer! If you don't like the actual beverage, you won't like this, but do, try it!

"Rich & Sophisticated! "

COMMENTS: I absolutely adore tobacco FO's (I've tried many that WSP carries, and am wow'd every time!), and this FO is no exception... It's wonderful!! WSP's Tabac & Leather is my personal favorite thus far, but this comes in at a VERY close second! So close that I had to get my husband's opinion as to which of these two to try out first, and he couldn't decide... He loved them both & couldn't stop smelling the bottles! Ended up making both batches in the same day, and OH MY GOODNESS... The whole house smelled AHHH-MAZING!!! This FO is gorgeous! It's a little bit sweeter & sharper, but every single note is present, robust & well-rounded! In CP it remains on point- no problems at all in a fast moving recipe with a coconut milk base, kaolin clay, 7% castor and a 33% lye concentration. It did set up quickly upon pouring, but still was able to execute the design intended. It gelled beautifully in the mold with no insulation required (thanks to the coconut milk), and the scent in CP is HEAVENLY! If you love tobacco FO's, this one will not disappoint! I used to think "Tobacco & Amber" FO was my all-time fav, but after trying "Tabac & Leather", then "Bourboned Tobacco", I truly can't make up my mind!! If you've tried those others and loved them, this FO MUST be added to your collection! I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

COMMENTS: I make para-soy melts. This smells amazing oob but was worried it would be too light in wax. This scents packs a pretty good punch in throw. Its not super strong but a very nice scent that spreads through the house.

COMMENTS: This FO did extremely well, tiny bit of acceleration, but it stick blended out nicely. Just soap at moderate temps, and be ready, you should still have plenty of time to do some great swirl patterns. My husband loves this scent, and so does a lot of his friends. It's not our "favorite" but, it was a nice one to try for sure, and worth experimenting with.

"Smooth and Smokey"

COMMENTS: I have used this a few times and just love this fragrance. It has this wonderful smokey smell to it and the bourbon makes it so sweet. It holds it's scent in cp soap. I did not have any problems with it in cp. If you are going to use multiple colors I don't advise adding it to the small amounts you set aside because it will thicken up. I used a non-floral fragrance that was known not to accelerate. Overall I am super happy with it.

COMMENTS: I hate most masculine fragrances, but this is an exception! Bourboned Tobacco has a complex, sophisticated, deep fragrance. It's slightly sweet, a little bit spicy and warm. Now I just need to come up with a soap design good enough to fit this wonderful fragrance.

"Turned to Stone"

COMMENTS: I love the fragrance and will probably use the rest of my bottle in other projects, but this did not work at all in CP. I used it in a very fluid swirl recipe that I've used many times - its tried and true - my soap turned to stone before I could even finish stirring it in.
