This ingredient is perfect for hair products, especially leave-in conditioners, and many other products. This wax provides a soft and powdery feel in lotions and creams. This wax is refined, deodorized and comes in the form of white to off-white pastilles. Light odor that fades in product. BTMS - 25 has great detangling and softening properties.

So is this the better option or is the btms 50 the better way to go? Should I substitute this for the mango butter? Or just add to the mix..ty

Staff Answer Yes, we think it is the better option of the 2. It's not a substitute for butter and should be worked into your formula as an additional ingredient.

Staff Answer We cannot guarantee that. We do not know your formula. Shea can get grainy if it's overheated. You can swap out the butter completely if you wish, but BTMS is not a direct swap.

Well inordered so hopefully it works..lol..my formula is as follows 2 oz Kokum butter .5 oz mango .5 oz carrier oils With this mixture it doesn't get grainy just too firm. Im hoping this btsm 25 will help soften

"Is BTMS-25 biodegradable and completely naturally produced? I ordered BTMS-50 from another site and on the safety data sheet it said that it's extremely toxic to aquatic life and should not enter waterways. Is BTMS-25 safer since it doesn't contain the butylene glycol?"

Staff Answer Wax is not normally added to bath melts. We do have one recipe where a small amount of beeswax was used. They are most often made with harder butters that melt once added to warm water. "Super Thick Emulsion!! "

COMMENTS: I used this wax for the first time making one of my lotion recipes that is tried and true. And let me tell you... it almost instantly thickened from the time I poured my hot liquids into my hot oils! Even before I started blending! At 140 degrees! I use a very small amount of Shea butter in my lotion, not sure if that was a factor. I suggest use a preservative with a high flashpoint. Makes for longer workability, the more it cools down the thicker it gets! Learned that the hard way! Lol... However this ewax delivered as promised a thick, creamy, smooth lotion that feels quite light. I packaged in jars which was optimal. Can't wait to try it in my sugar scrubs!
