"I'm not sure why you guys don't provide IFRA sheets, but the info you do provide works most of the time. I make body sprays and I always use IFRA Category #4 for my sprays. On your item description page(s), you have a category called "Perfume." Would this be the same as the IFRA category #4 that I use for my body sprays?"

"I am making MP colored gumballs with the Bubble Gum FO. Do I have to use a Vanilla Stabilizer? How would the FO turn Brown if my gumball are purple, red etc?"

Staff Answer This fragrance contains 2% vanilla so it will discolor your soap over time without the stabilizer. The only way to know how much it will discolor is to make a small batch of soap with these colors. It may take a few weeks to one month for the color to change.

"If I was adding the bubblegum fragrance oil to wax for candles and the flashpoint is 116 do I have to wait till the wax cools to 116 or less to add FO ? "

Staff Answer Flashpoint is very important if making gel candles. It is also the point at which a fragrance can combust if it comes in contact with an open flame or in a pressurized compartment, such as an airplane. A fragrance with a 116°F flashpoint can be added at the lowest pour temperature for your particular wax.

"I am thinking about adding this to an unscented liquid hand soap and unscented lotion I already have. When looking at the fo calculator would I select hand wash and body lotion? Also am I able to add colorants to liquid hand soap and hand lotion without it turning our hands that color?"

Staff Answer Yes, you would choose hand wash and body lotion for the calculator. We recommend adding our Stained Glass liquid colors for these types of products. A few drops adds a nice color and will not come off on skin. If you add color to a hand wash, for instance, and the bubbles are not white when using, then you have added too much color.

Staff Answer You should use the vanilla stabilizer if you do not want your soap to discolor. Even though the vanilla content is only 2%, it will eventually discolor.

"I would like to use this FO for lip balm. Since the vanilla will color it brown.... can I use a vanilla color stabilizer and pink mica for a safe color? Thanks."

Staff Answer It is not necessary to use a stabilizer. The vanilla content does not affect a product made of oils/butters/waxes. It will only darken products containing water.

Staff Answer We recommend using a vanilla color stabilizer with all fragrances that contain even 1% vanilla. Even 1% vanilla can cause discoloration. You will need to test your individual formula to be sure.

Staff Answer Yes, as indicated in the IFRA guidelines this is safe at 3.3% in products used on the body such as a hand scrub or bath salt and it is safe at 1.1% in a lip product such as a lip scrub.

Staff Answer Yes, per the IFRA Guidelines, you can use this fragrance in lip products. We recommend a usage rate of no more than 1%. Since not all fragrances are lip safe, we always recommend looking at the IFRA guidelines under the 'Documents' tab for all fragrances to see if they are approved for lips.

"I want to make bath salts with this fragrance oil for kids. I plan on using dendritic salt to help keep the shelf life longer so I can sell them. I can't find anywhere what the percentage or ratio is. If it's 3% that 7 ml per 8 oz. That seems like a lot, but I want to make sure the product will last and will smell once it hits the water, but I also want it to be safe, especially since I'm labeling this a "kids bath salt". Please help. Thanks!"

Staff Answer The Dendritic Salt details recommend that you add a Fragrance Oil at up to 3%. The Bubble Gum Fragrance Oil will be safe in the product at this percentage according to the IFRA sheet. If you are worried about kids being more sensitive then you can always add less than the recommended amount. So the 7 ml of FO in 8 oz. of Bath Salts would be the correct amount, but you may add less if you like.
