Staff Answer There are no exact usage levels for this particular product so you would need to add a small amount at a time to reach what would be your desired consistency. This will thin out the base and possibly affect the suspending so you will want to keep it low. Heating both slightly will help to incorporate. You should not need additional preservative.

"I plan to add this to the Bubble Bath Clear in hopes of more bubbles. The instructions on the BB say to heat to 110 degrees. I'm assuming then you remove from heat and stir in the fragrance oil. Is that the point you add the Bubble Up? If I'm doing 16 oz Bubble Bath, could I then add 1.6 oz fragrance oil and 1.6 oz Bubble Up?"

Staff Answer Yes, you would heat the Bubble Bath then remove from microwave or heat source. Stir in fragrance and Bubble Up, if using. The recommended amount of fragrance is 1%, or 0.16 oz., for 16 oz. of Bubble Bath.

Staff Answer We have not tested Bubble Up in a bubble solution. You would need to test this out. In doing research, there are quite a few recipes online for this type of product.

Staff Answer If you have not added the fragrance yet, that will usually thin out the product. You can add additional body wash to thin it out. You might also add a small amount of hydrosol which will also give your product label appeal. Be sure to stay under 5% additives or you will need additional preservatives.

"I've made 100% olive oil liquid soap paste via the cold process liquid soap method. I'd like my soap to have more bubbles. Could Bubble Up be added to a homemade liquid soap paste to increase the lather? Do I add to the paste prior to dilution or do I add during the dilution process (while adding water/preservative)? Staff Answer We have not personally tried this but from researching, we found others add the Cocamidopropyl Betaine as a second surfactant in their recipe at around 15% of total surfactants. Others have added to the paste. You may need to experiment to see what works best for you.

"I am making bubble bath for my granddaughter when I added fragrance oil it got chunky instead of smooth and settles at top I can't pour out of bottle I have to squeeze hard to push the thickness out then the rest is smooth is there something I need to add so its not chunky. Thank you."

Staff Answer It sounds like you need a EO/FO Modifier or Polysorbate 20 to blend the fragrance oil with the water-based bubble bath. You might try warming the bottle in hot water to see if the thickness on the bottom will melt. We are not sure why this would happen.

Staff Answer We have not tested Bubble Up in our MP Soap bases but there is no reason why this coconut oil based product could not be added. Our premium bases give the most bubbles and they accept up to 6% total additives. If you add the typical 3% fragrance then we recommend adding only up to 3% of bubble up as your final additive. Since we have not tested it in MP soap bases we can not guarantee that it will increase the bubbling properties of your soap.

Staff Answer The concentrate was used for body wash, shower gel, bubble bath and some other products and we no longer carry it or have a substitute for that particular product beside our less concentrated Liquid Suspension Soap Base. The bubble up is used to amplify bubbles in washes but isn't a base product as the concentrate was.

"I'm interested in adding this to the Crafters Choice™ Pet Shampoo for sale on your website. I did not see any recommended ratios listed for Bubble Up on the product details page. If I was going to add this to 1 Gallon of Crafters Choice™ Pet Shampoo, do you have a recommended ratio? Staff Answer Bubble Up can be used in a liquid soap base at 1-100%. I personally would not recommend exceeding more than 5% in a liquid soap/shampoo base as this additive has a very thin viscosity and will thin your liquid soap/shampoo. I would start at the low end and increase as desired.

"Hello, I used this to thicken a liquid hand soap that thinned after adding Hello Sugar FO. After this was added, I found the hand soap to be drying to my hands. It was not prior to adding this even after the FO had been added. Is there anything I can add at this point to make it less drying? If there is, please tell me what and how to use it. If there is not but you have other suggestions please include them. Thanks."

If you are interested in creating a thicker liquid wash, we would recommend using our Bubble Wash Thickener. You may want to try adding more of the liquid hand soap base thereby reducing the amount of the bubble up per ounce of base.

I have used this product in my Coffee cold processed soap and it had noticeably increased the lather and bubbles. I added approximately 1/2 oz. to 1 oz. to a 14# batch at trace. It worked so well that I am ordering more. This is a must have if lather and bubbles are what you need.

"I have had a problem with fragrance oils thinning body washes and bubble bath. I bought the bubble up because it says it will thicken liquid washes and produce Hollywood bubbles. The bubble up worked great until I added the fragrance oil. So I bought FO & EO modifier and added that to the fragrance oil, added this mixture to the bubble bath, then added 10% of the bubble up and the finished product is very watery and thin. What am I doing wrong?"

Staff Answer If you are still having trouble with the Fragrance Oil thinning the liquid wash, we would recommend Xanthan Gum as a thickener. This product works great to help with this issue and, when combined with the Bubble Up, should give you a thicker product with excellent foam and lather.
