Not the best of Crafter's Choice

"I really wanted to love this M&P Buttermilk soap, but it just is below average. Even after letting it sit once poured in a rectangular mold after 48 hours it is still so soft you can almost bend it like rubber. Sure it feels wonderful on your skin, but with this soap being so very soft I don't believe customers are going to like it. First I poured it by itself, results soft after 48 hours, then I did 1/2 buttermilk and 1/2 goat milk, and the bar was still so soft after 48 hours. I just don't get it, all the other CS soaps are superior that I have tried, but this is just a real disappointment."

"So moisturizing, I washed with it and was blown away. I then used it for my 15-month-old baby and washed his hair with it too and omg I didn't think a baby could get any softer, even his hair was amazing. Showed his curls better!"

Baby Buttermilk is the best!

"I have to say that this base is quickly surpassing goat milk as my favorite white base to work with. The color is whiter than goat milk (which to me has a slightly yellower hue), and I like the natural scent a little better. That said, I do wish that it did not contain oatmeal or calendula. I would really prefer the melt and pour bases to be single bases without any additives since I like to customize my soaps myself."

"Oh my goodness but was I in awe the first time I tried this soap!!! lol I make many skin care products using the best oils and butters I can find but this one bar of soap made my skin feel like silk. It smells wonderful and I did add a bit of vanilla FO to it. I will order it again because everyone who tries a sample is goning to want to buy a nice fat bar of it."

My favorite melt and pour base

"I've tried all the bases and this is, by far, my favorite opaque base. It lathers luxuriously and I can't remember the last time that I used lotion on my hands and body. . . my skin stays nice and hydrated with this base. It takes color and fragrance well and works well as a shampoo bar, too. I have had multiple skin problems and this soap has virtually eliminated them all. . . the richest, gentlest soap I have ever used. I look forward to washing my hands now!"

I just want to clarify that for additives it shouldnt go over 6%? Is this for all bases?: We advise to not go over 5% with all additives in the bases
Can I add colloidal oats to this base? If so, at what %?: Yes, Recommended use level-Soaps: 1-10% Our MP soap bases can hold up to 5% of additives that with including the fo.
I made this buttermilk soap and melted it and poured it in your 1601 rectangular mold. I did not add any fragrance or additives. After 24 hours I removed one of the bars of soap and it is very soft. Almost like you could bend it. What can I use th harden up this base.: Sodium Lactate (2%) or Stearic acid (3%) can be added to the soap to make it harder.
Why is it called baby buttermilk? I don't see any info on it.: It is so named because it's a more mild formulation.
Can the buttermilk MP base be substituted with another white MP soap base in the MP recipes?: Yes, you can easily swap out MP bases in our recipes.
