Q&A

I used this in a body butter expecting to see sparkle on my skin, but I did not. I know I added more than enough because I did see the staining effects. Am I correct in thinking my result is due to the particle size of this product being so small? What mica particle size will give me a visible summer sparkle without looking like a disco ball? :)
All of our shimmer micas are: Avg. Particle Size: 10-60 µmAbsolutely, the size of mica particles is very important because it influences both the look and characteristics of the material. Smaller particles tend to give a softer shimmer, while larger ones produce a bolder glitter effect. In simple terms, finer mica results in a more understated sparkle, whereas coarser mica offers a more glittery appearance.
According to another question you can mix this mica powder into body butter. So how. would you go about mixing this mica powder into body butter. Do you need to mix any additive with the mica first before mixing into body butter so the mica powder doesn't separate, or just blend the mica in by itself
Carefully stir the body butter slightly to mix in the mica powder before using the hand mixer to finish blending. Add slowly and nix until you reach the color and consistency that works for you.
Can micas be used in body spray/mist?
Mica powder will settle out in a body spray/mist. You would need to shake before every use if you were to use it. Polysorbate 80 may help some but it will still settle out.
Is this fine enough to go through a spray bottle?
This is a fine powder. You would need to test the compatibility of the mica with your packaging.
