MP Soap: Add color to a small amount of liquid glycerin. Mix well. Then add amount desired to melted soap base. Adding more will produce a darker color. You have used too much color if your soap bubbles are not white.

"I purchased this in a 4 oz bag and did not open it. The expiration date on the bag is 10/28/2020 and I was wondering if that is still the date I should consider expired or if it expires a year after it has actually been opened. "I have been playing around with using matte red oxide in my cp soap. I made a 3 lb. batch of spiced cranberry and added 1 tsp. of this oxide to the entire batch. To my dismay when I wash with it it has pink bubbles and is pink on the wash cloth. What is the correct amount I should use to get an all over color in my cp soap without the pink /red bubbles and coloring on the wash cloths?? "

"Brick Red"

COMMENTS: We all know reds are a hanky thing. This color has always given me a matte brick red that has been perfect for my designs or a great addition to other reds. Easy to mix if you blend prior to adding to your soap. I blend in glycerin. This is a staple color.

COMMENTS: Super easy to work with in CP and creates gorgeous color! I actually mixed this with a little bit of WSP's Matte Yellow Pigment Powder to create the most beautiful shade of adobe orange! "Great price for a good quality red oxide"

COMMENTS: When wetted down red iron oxide becomes more of a brown color. Makes an excellent substitute for burnt sienna when making watercolor paints. Finely milled so it doesn't require much grinding for either mineral makeup or watercolor. This is the best price I've found for red oxide.

"Perfect, but stains easily."

COMMENTS: You only need a very small amount of this product when using it with bath fizzies. Be sure to mix it in with your oils or polysorbate 80 first instead of dropping it in the dry mix, otherwise you will stain yourself and the tub. If you add too much and you end up staining the tub anyway, you can scrub it off with a bathroom cleanser and a Magic Eraser. Be careful!!!

"Deep red!"

COMMENTS: This color is perfect when a good dark red is desired. Blends very well when dispersed in oil as directed, with little effort. I prefer to premix several uses, in advance, so the powder soaks up the oil. By premixing, I haven't seen any clumps. I definitely recommend this product and will order again!

COMMENTS: I like the color this gives, it is a bright rusty red (more red than rust) but the only problem I find is that it is hard to blend it enough. I often find that I end up with little specs of unblended powder in my soap. Looks ok until you cut through one and then it smears.

COMMENTS: I received a sample of this pigment with my last order. So far, I've used it to make fruit embeds for melt and pour soap. The coloring is more of a dark red so I add a little neon pink to brighten it up a bit. I have not noticed any bleeding into the other colors. It has been 5 days and love the end result.

COMMENTS: Gorgeous slightly faded red. Behaved beautifully in cold process soap! Might have sped trace up just a little but that is fine with me. Used with Matte Woodland Green and made a beautiful "Country Christmas" looking soap. Love it for a faded red!!!

COMMENTS: This was a fun product to use. Being new to the soap-making community, I wasn't sure about a powdered pigment vs. a liquid color. When adding a bit of powder to rubbing alcohol and whirling it around with a latte frother, voila! It mixed beautifully and gave my M & P soap a lovely color.

COMMENTS: This powder mixed well in my lipgloss and colored it really well. I used a lot of it in a lipgloss with zinc oxide as well and it gives a really smooth pink that colors the lips well but the consistency stays smooth. I would definitely recommend it!

COMMENTS: I've been looking for a true RED for CP soap and this one just about does it. Still more of a brick red, not exactly the nice cherry red I hope for, but it's acceptable and the best "RED" I've got. I think it makes a very nice swirl effect, and you don't need much...too much and you will have what appears to be red clay stains on your hands, sinks and washcloths!

COMMENTS: This is an amazing red. It takes VERY little to make things red. I actually made too much of an orange by using a dash of this with a yellow. It creates depth in other colors and gives a true red to products. I love it and will continue to use it.

"BEAUTIFUL, TRUE RED!"

COMMENTS: Well, what can I say? I have every mica and glitter than WSP sells. The sparkle ones are breath taking in the clear bases. So, I guess I can say I LOVE THIS! I finally broke down and bought the liquid glycerin (from WSP of course) and it make a world of difference. I had the problem of the micas not mixing well into the melted soap bases, but the glycerin in a life saver. Put some in a dixie cup with the mica, stir well, add it to the soap base, and, perfection! I have had an impossible time trying to get my white M & P base to give me a "true red" instead of a dark pink. This definately solves the problem!

WSP Response:

It is almost impossible to get a true red using a white soap base. Best to use clear soap for a true red color.

	"Great color but did not disperse well in water"
COMMENTS: I could possibly change my review to a higher rating after I try a different blending technique. This just did not disperse well in water for me though even though I used the recommended water to pigment ratio. So not really sure what the final result will be in my CP soap as it is not yet cured...not sure if I will have bleeding color or colored lather so to speak. I'm not giving up on it yet though! It really makes for a beautiful red colorant and it's pretty enough that I will be trying again. Maybe I'll try with dispersing in some oil this time. I've been finding that deviating from the recommended guidelines in colorants somethings works great and I'm excited to give this another go!
