Reviews

Dark Concentrated Aquamarine

"This blue is very concentrated and works great! Sometimes it can be difficult to get a good color in sugar scrubs but this dye was perfect for them. Left them as a sky blue and it was perfect for a baby shower giveaway. I would highly recommend this as your go to blue dye for melt and pour soap and sugar cube scrubs!"

Nice Sky Color

"I really love the ease in which this color mixes with the MP soap bases. It doesn't bleed, and so far, it appears stable. I used the this color in two different soap ""vignettes"": for a daytime sky and a nighttime city skyline, the latter of which I added a few drops of liquid black to get the right color. It worked wonderfully. Will definitely order again (and again)!"

blends perfectly

"I prefer to use a liquid in most applications and Crafter Choice's liquids blend in perfectly. With their many colors available I can usually get the shade I want. Just be careful not to use too much."

Everyone's favorite color

"I frequently have M&P soap-making parties and everyone reaches for this when they want a blue soap. I have several other blues (and other colors as well) but the cobalt is by far the most popular. It mixes well and even the first-timer soapers have no issues using it."

Works well in melt and pour and bath bombs

LOVE!

"This is a beautiful color. I've only used in it opaque bases so far. It gives me the perfect blue I need for a little boy baby shower I'm doing right now!"

Q&A

the main page of this says no mp but all the recipes are mp for this... which is correct? yay or nay for mp? :)
The page states MP Soap Only: No, meaning it is good for other applications, not only MP soap.
I make liquid foaming soap and need something that won't sequester or sink to the bottom since the soap is so thin. Does this disperse nicely and stay suspended or will it sink to the bottom or sequester. If so what other colorant would you recommend? Hope this makes sense! Thanks!
For liquid soaps, we recommend using our Stained Glass Liquid Dyes. They color very nicely without sinking since they are water-based. They also leave your product clear so you get that stained glass affect.
I am a newbie to creating body products. I wanted a deep color in my body butter but I did not achieve it with the powder mica. Is this good for body butters or just soaps?
This color is water soluble and may not mix well into your body butter. You also do not want to color your product so dark that it will come off onto clothing and towels. If pigments are used too heavily, this can happen.
Can liquid pigment be brushed directly on a soap stamp to color the imprint? Does it have to be diluted first?
The liquid pigments will not dry if applied to a bar of soap. We would recommend mixing mica powder with rubbing alcohol to color a soap stamp imprint. The alcohol will dissipate and leave the mica powder.
What is meant by "migration"? Over time will these liquid colors separate? Can migration be prevented?
Migration is when one colored layer of soap migrates or bleeds into another layer. If making a layered bar of soap, you want to look for colors that do not migrate.
