Directions

Warm the base on low heat to about 120°F or until fully liquid, then add cosmetic-grade fragrance and FDA-approved colorant within recommended usage limits. Pour into containers, allow to cool to room temperature, then cap and label. Do not exceed IFRA guidelines or the product’s 4% maximum fragrance load; too much color may cause the lotion to lose its white appearance, and too much fragrance can thin the formula.

"I used this base to make the Ultra Face Lotion (recipe found on their web site). The recipe included geranium water, rose hip oil, sea buckthorn and I added some Lavender EO. My customer loved this lotion so much she has already ordered more because she doesn’t want to run out. She also got a sunburn on her face and told me nothing had ever soothed a sunburn like this lotion. The recipe calls for jars but this is a very loose lotion and is much better poured into bottles with a flip top instead."

Very Nice Lightweight Lotion

For your Golfers Hand Lotion recipe, can I swap out the Botanical extract with any extract you offer on the site at the same %?: You should be able to substitute with any of our water-soluble extracts.
Is it possible to add a bit of arrowroot powder for a thicker lotion? I realize there are thicker lotion bases available but I currently have this one on hand and would like to try if possible. Thanks!: There is nothing you can add that will thicken the lotion other than a thicker base (Silky Body Butter, for example).

Recently purchased this lotion, love it so far but wanted to add an emulsifier to thicken it up a bit. Any suggestions?: Once a lotion has been emulsified, you cannot add anything to make it thicker. Water can be added to thin, but nothing can make it thicker. We feel the Gentle Face and Baby Cream, Goat Milk & Honey Lotion, Luxury Hand & Body Cream and the Silky Body Butter are our thickest lotions.
