"This is the perfect scent for my beach soap. It’s fresh and clean and a little bit floral. It says that there is “moderate acceleration,” but I have not seen this. It behaves very well in my recipe, though I always stir it in by hand just in case. It sticks well in cold process soap."

No problems for me

"After reading the reviews about this scent ricing and accelerating, I was a bit scared to use it. I made some adjustments and it worked beautifully. I used a higher water amount, and I soaped a little cooler than usual. I added the scent to each pitcher individually. I dripped it in slowly with a pipette, and I whisked the whole time. I had zero issues with ricing. And it only accelerating mildly for me. The scent smells wonderful. I like it enough that it is worth it for me to continue to use it, even with my extra precautions."

Smells bad to me

"I bought this based on other reviews. To me this fragrance has a cheap aftershave smell - chemically and unpleasant. I thought maybe it would smell different after soaping but it was no better. I had to throw away the soap because the smell of having it around made me sick. Everyone is different, so others obviously don't perceive it like I did."

"I was given this by someone who was going out of business many years ago. I fell in love with it and have re-ordered since. But I gave it a different name and it fits with what I am doing. Please don't ever discontinue this!"

Ricing got me!

"The Ricing was severe not mild for me. I blended on the highest speed but couldn't blend it out. However The scent was so good and no discoloring. The cut bars reflect the ricing as there are the beady rice balls everywhere and lots of holes. I guess lots of soap for the family as I got bit by 2 fragrances in a big batch I split 3 ways."

Q&A

Will this cloud/discolor the extra clear MP base?
This fragrance should not discolor in a clear soap base. It is very, very slightly yellow in color but not enough to affect the clarity. We also recommend staying within the 3% recommended usage rate for MP soap.
If I used this within my CP soap, what color combinations would you recommend for this scent?
Various blues and greens comes to mind when thinking of Ocean Rain. Also, light tans may be reminiscent of sand. White may be nice to incorporate for the white caps of the waves.
